Still an uplifting treat to read. Feel I must put you forward for Minister of Tolerance; No Hypocrisy;& No Sweeping Generalisations(and maybe Poet Laureate if you have time?) Careful tonight up there- they may not look 'foreign' but you might find they talk a bit 'funny'
They should try travelling on the overnight ferry from Jersey to Portsmouth. The company has a monopoly, so it's not uncommon for one of the engines to be not working, so you can hear that the other 3 are straining to make up for it, and I'm sure that the bunks in a naval ship must be more comfortable than theirs, even in the family cabins. That is why I would rather get up at 5 to get the red-eye flight to Gatwick than a ferry that arrives at 6am on which I've hardly had any sleep.
Having calmed down after tonight's game, I dallied awhile with the BBC's predictor, and came up with this: 1. Cardiff 88 points 2. Watford 86 points. 3. Hull 76 points 4. Palace 75 points 5. Forest 74 points 6. Brighton 73 points 22. Blackburn 51 points 23. Huddersfield 47 points 24. Bristol City 43 points Amazing the confidence boost an away win gives you - I reckon the only points we will drop now are at Posh. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_1/predictor/default.stm
Morning all from a chilly bandit country - thanks in advance for the frothy AK. I could not make the game last night as I had to stay at home. After a long illness Mrs W_Y's dear mum passed from us on Sunday night, so football was not really a consideration. But last nights win has put a small smile on a couple of faces here. Sad times, but it was a release for her.
Sorry to hear that w-y. Had come on to congratulate you all on a great 3 points last night (or was it 6)
Sæl öll. Cappuccino, coffee, tea donuts and fruit are on the bar. Glögg for all. After the mtch yesterday I am noth going to mess up your drinks. I am saddened to read your news W_Y. I hope thet the release as you say will be some comfort to Mrs W_Y.
Sad news w_y - my condolences to you and yours. A hard thing to say, but sometimes it's for the best.
Sorry about your loss w-y, I must admit that recently in the last few games and the international break I had lost heart with football in general but last nights result has stoked the fire within and I am back on track Here's hoping we can get the result on Saturday against Baadiff and I will be red hot again U'Orns
Just seen that the Conference game between Barrow and Ebbsfleet could not start until 20.45 due to traffic delays. More to the point though, how on earth can clubs with small crowds survive when one is in Cumbria and the other in Kent? As far as I remember, the conference was in two regional leagues at one time, with just one from each getting into the FL. This made it hard to progress for the those clubs, so the current structure was started. Now there are the two regional leagues with promotion to the Conference, that seem to survive as much on the bar takings as they do on the gate receipts.
I thought that things had gone quiet in the press regarding The Great Gun Debate in America - then this popped up. It really beggars belief that anyone would condone this amount of weaponry being kept in a private residence. http://www.upworthy.com/this-graphic-of-adam-lanzas-home-arsenal-is-devastating?c=upw1
