I think people took the game at City too seriously. Our situation hasn't changed at all.

We got spanked by City like most teams do at their ground.

Time to move on. We got 0pts which is what we predicted we'd get.

Will wait to see who is fit\available before deciding how confident I feel, or making a prediction. Either way it will be fiery.

Sorry but that is simply not true. You have to take every game seriously. I can accept getting beat of Citeh. But approaching the game as we did as a set of players and manager was completely unacceptable. Citeh have actually been very vulnerable to teams who pressure them with high tempo football this season. The only time they've looked good is when teams have sat back and waited to be pumped. This is exactly what we did and it was pathetic. W ehave to improve.

City did to us what Bayern did to Juventus yesterday. Bayern wanted it more and were more energetic. City were well organised and they were too quick for us on and off the ball.

We didn't play well, but my point is this one performance should not change much as to how worried we are for relegation and how we'll do in the future.

We didn't play well, but Cities goals were cutting edge football, with a bit of luck thrown in. City have been vulnerable to certain teams, but mainly away from home. They've only lost one PL home game in years, and that was to Man Utd.

Regardless of how City have been worried, they've always ended up winning almost all their home games. In terms of Improvement - We need to perform better, but it's not as if we're on a terrible run.

Wigan away and City away are two of the hardest ties you could play right now, we were unlucky to lose vs Wigan.

I agree it's a bit concerning, but my original point was our situation has not changed since before the City game, so why is everyone 10x more worried after the City game?

    Lets just keep faith.

I agree with this bit, the result doesn't change whether we'll avoid relegation or not.

However we can't approach games like that, it was very meek. What disappointed me most, apart from feeling sorry for our travelling support, was that we were so good last season at analysing other teams. Man U was a good example. They struggled with direct football against Blackburn the week before, so Pardew played Shola, went more direct and had us drilled. Everton away, and many other home and away have found a chink in Citeh this season. Get after them. Even their own supporters have voiced concern about it.

Its about having the right mental preperation for games. Pards has to make sure that we are 100% on roles and how we want to approach any particular game. He either didn't do his homework or didn't manage to communicate the plan very well.

As for Juve/Bayern, I think Juve bottled it. Their strength this season has been their mental approach, and ability to keep the ball and their shape. When you see Pirlo handing the opposition possession with alarming regularity, you know they are not on their game. They were getting pulled about and their touch and passing was way off their ability normally. Bayern hardly had to get out of 2nd gear.

I really wouldn't like to predict how it's going to go. Not followed Newcastle too much this year so not sure how you're playing.

We've been dire but who knows what the new manager will do to change our fortunes.

The league suggests we're both as ****e as each other. I don't take injuries (we've all had them) /bad managers (enough said) /trigger happy and fat spastic owners (Guess who) into account, just wins draws and losses. Given your slight advantage in terms of points and the fact that you're at home... 2-1. Hoping for 1-1 or 1-2 though.

In truth I think our game with Villa is the biggest game on our horizon at the moment.

    All the best chaps.

Been shocking this year mate. Being honest if I look at the two squads, I think we're streets ahead. The league however suggests it'll be a close match. It usually is anyway, scrappy as hell normally. I'd like to think we'll win but a lot will depend on what happens on Thursday night in Lisbon. If we have hope of a European semi final come the 2nd leg, we'll have to go for it which could have a negative impact for us in the derby. If we are well beaten as most expect on Thursday, we might not bother risking the big guns.

Shola owes us a performance and I hope he delivers one. If he scores the winner he will be forgiven for all his ****ness throughout the season

Anyone else thinking our prem status may hinge on what happens in the derby?
