I'm happy to concede that NUFC had a very good season back. Nearly as good as West Brom's, in fact. But I can't help smile at the "you've spent millions" crap. You've been doing it for years, but as soon as we spend a few bob (and it's not that huge when you look at the money we got from selling Keane's bloated squad) it's all "we did it on a shoestring". Knock it off FFS.

Our season was disappointing because we were 6th at the end of January and then couldn't score in a brothel for three months, due to selling Bent (don't ask) and losing strikers to injury. So, with that in mind, am I chuffed to still end up above you? Yup.

As for the 5-1, fair do's. But that was seven months ago and this is now. If being 3-0 up at half time and finishing 3-3 and below us really doesn't hurt, there's not a lot I can say...

  7. We had Nolan, Tiote and Jonas out, if we had a full strength team it would have been different.

Atleast when we get vital players injured we manage a draw with WBA instead of losing 1-3 at home to them.

Of course it hurts to throw away a 3 goal lead and blow the chance to finish 9th. I just find it very funny that you are allowing the minor achievement of finishing one point above us to blind you mackems to the fact that you have actually had a very poor season. Putting it down to a defence mechanism to stop you from thinking about just how ****e you are i suppose!

Genuine question to the mackems camping on our board (It's like stepping out of a smoky pub for some fresh air) :

Would you rather have beaten us at home and dominated the away game or finished 1 point ahead of us?

It is particularly scathing of Sunderland of which it says: "It is time to stop pretending that there is a bright future for Sunderland and ask ourselves instead what we need to do to offer people in Sunderland better prospects."

    Spot on that is!

Very poor second half, really. What made it a bad season was the position we got ourselves in in January gave us a real chance to exceed expectations. Most people were aiming for a comfortable (i.e. no relegation worries) top ten finish at the start of the season and, frankly, laughing at you lot struggle. In the event, we had a chance to aim for a top 6 finish, but completely blew it and you did very well, overall. Although how you got some of the results you did against the better teams and then struggled against the lesser lights was a bit puzzling.

Anyway, we're not blind to our shortcomings, but at 4.45 we were finishing below you and the banners were out at SJP. So, yeah, I'm chuffed...
