I think you're wrong - there'll be plenty of "Paolo's a racist" type songs from your lot a week on Sunday!!! Other than that I agree totally.
I think it will be used in a similar vein by our fans just as we are poked with the mike Ashley stick. You will probably get it from our lot as long as he is with the club. That's just wind us between rivals. It won't be getting the media coverage though.
I couldn't of put it better myself. Too many people making noise without knowing all of the facts or because they have taken the moral high ground.
Jarra, the plan is to not give your lot anything to sing about kidda. I still think you're red hot favourites but this has spiced things up a bit. Di Canio will know just how potentially damaging or boosting this game means to us but just as importantly to him. He will achieve legend status with a win after all the ****e he has put up with so far. A draw is a decent result but a defeat and a heavy one at that, would flatten everything. One things for certain. Pardew won't be giving it large in PDC face as he did our 60 year old manager last season. He would regret that kind of outburst.
Naturally. I'm sure there will be all manner of dress ups, chants and otherwise. You'd be disappointed if we didn't take advantage of such golden material
I think any action by pardew that would potentially provoke di canio would turn out worse for your manager in all honesty once any dust had settled. pardew will know this as will alot of other managers. Got a feeling alot of managers will try and wind him up.
It doesn't stand up either as the implication is that because they're lower league they go under the radar but with Di Canio he was as much in the football press as most Premier League managers. Also, the BBC employed him to write some articles for them recently too and I'm sure other papers have hired him to write columns and they're far from under the radar like Swindon supposedly are. Infact, the BBC are bigger than SAFC so how did they get away with it? Thanks by the way, I do often read this board but don't always comment because I don't usually have anything to add, I read it more out of interest. All political talk aside I was quite surprised you went for PDC, I was expecting you to at least try for Di Matteo and who knows, maybe you did Di Canio's just such an unknown quantity and I would've thought you'd go for experience, particularly since you can't afford for him not to hit the ground running with this team. Then again I thought the same about us after we sacked Redknapp and a lot of clubs seem to be going for young managers, perhaps with the sense that managers like MON perhaps have a style that's becoming less successful. Still, at least you didn't get someone like Hughes or Southgate in.
Honestly the Führer over this appointment has me baffled. All joking aside, I love how selective some of this "holier than thou" brigade and our national press are. This country is comical at times. No wonder you headed for warmer climates.
