That's the score on how many managers we both had since 2004!!! Another stat - Since the advent of the Premier League we have had 15 Appointed Managers (I haven't counted the caretakers!) in nearly 21 years. In the 21 years before the Premier League (1971 - 1992) we had 6 Managers. Now I know not every manager in the above stats has been sacked, but therein, my fellow Foxes, lies our problem. We have a club that has no stability, we charge like headless chickens in one direction after another and unless we break this vicious circle, quoting good old Private Fraser "We're Doooomed".
We know NP is a great manager. We were very very close to double promotion to a sinking ship that he took over Look at how he left hull, a far far greater position than when he took over Compare our team with how it was when Sven took over - he has almost done it but is still changing it. We know he is a good manager, just stick, be patient and believe.
Look, I can almost guarantee that we wouldn't be where we are now, if Nigel was still manager. Just look at our star players now: Stockdale, Chester, Elmo, Brady, Quinn, Meyler, Gedo and Boyd. 7 of which were brought in by Brucie. And yes Proud, not all of then are our players. However, Stockdale, Elmo, Gedo and Fathi and Boyd will be our players in the Summer.
Your team could well have looked like this Stockdale (we had him on loan) De Laet Morgan Chester Hobbs Brady Koren Knockaert Meyler Wood Fryatt
Brady as he was man utd i believe and NP bought him in 1st when he was with you i think? Brucie bought in Meyler so forget him, throw in Drinkwater instead!! Thats one hell of a team...
If I had to pick a team out of our 2 squads then this would be it... Schmeichel Chester Faye Morgan Elmo Boyd Drinkwater Quinn Brady Aluko Wood Or 4-4-2 Schmeichel Elmo Chester Morgan Brady Aluko Drinkwater Quinn Knockaert Boyd Wood
Never thought of it like that tbh, minus Meyler you've got a point though. I'm not sure we'd have brought in De Laet because NP was a big Rosenior fan, but that's still a class team. However, the main reason we are where we are is because of Elmo and Bruce's influence. We would have neither if Pearson was here and even if we got promoted we'd have a rookie manager in the prem unlike now (if we go up) where we have an experienced prem manager at the ready. Still an interesting point you've made.
I tried to do it with just players that NP signed or were already at your club (ie you wouldnt have had Schmeichel), but if we were to do a team between the 2 of ours... Kasper De Laet Morgan Chester Konch (shame really, but Brady isnt really a FB) Elmo Drinkwater Koren Aluko Knockaert Schlupp!!! (love him, but realistically Wood/Fryatt as Schlupp has hardly played)
Just wiki'ed him and they say he is a 5ft6 LM - does he not get bullied in the middle as i believe he plays for you?
No, no and no! He is brilliant with all of his twists and turns, nobody can get near him. Yes he does he plays on the left of 3 CM's linking up with Brady (LWB/LM) extremely well!
Why do you think he was at shef utd until 27 if he is this good? Has bruce made him flourish or was he a standout there? Maybe change of position (left of a 3 man CM)? Im not wumming at all, i just know very little of the lad and want to know more about him!
Always liked Quinn myself and when Sheff Utd lost in the play off final last year I thought we should have made a move for him.
I couldn't tell you, I knew nothing about him when he joined. All I know is what he is like now. I have found this clip of when he was at Sheff Utd... http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=cA1pqXgilpw
I think my original point has got lost somewhere on here. Thanks to The Hull City Hi-Jackers - God it must be Dull on your board!
Yes he is, very much so. And Koren isn't doing great at the moment, he looks disinterested. He doesn't deserve to be captain and certainly isn't one of our best players anymore.
No it's the 4th busiest board and has about 1,800 members on it so it is hardly dull, especially with all of the build up to the biggest game of the championship season so far tonight; Hull City v Watford!
It's nice to see the odd genuine conversation with Hull fans. I think Pearson is a good conservative manager, and does a good job steadying the wage bill, getting younger players in: generally balancing the books. He's proven that with both Hull and Leicester in recent years. Both times he's been with us he's cleared up somebody else's mess- Sven/Sousa and Holloway/every other idiot who managed Leicester from 2005-2009. However, I don't think he can get us any further. Hull have got their new man, we need to find ours. Hull I think will get promoted. So I won't be happy if we lose Pearson- I'll feel sorry for him, but I think it's necessary, and if he does go, I hope people appreciate the effort he's put in for our club.
