our club were expecting the negative media circus surrounding the appointment of di Canio???
Do you think they would have appointed him in hindsight????
I think our chances of stopping up have increased but strangely think our chances of losing every game have increased also!!!
Even if we stop up i am worried about the long term! I think that the negative publicity, his wild reputation and hard training schedule could affect our chances of buying players in the future! Transfer targets may be put off and opt for a cushier life elsewhere! I'm concerned that say, for example, that ourselves and Stoke are after Messi, and he opts for the club who isnt being managed by a big fat racist! Then again i think that the whole thing will just blow over! Im confused!!!!

I reckon that "Short gets his man" no matter who he steps on in the process and he doesn;t care what others think - Milliband quit over this as a director and a vice president - do you think Ellis would've let that happen if he wanted him to stay?

I hate the negativity surrounding it - typical media circus but I like what I've heard of the man himself so far and the fact that he keeps saying "I am not a politician so I will not answer questions on politics - I will answer questions on Football" is great - the media love it though - you have to think he's a non-story without those questions and I said as much on the talksport website - He wouoldn;t be worthy of the press if they didn't aask him a question which has absolutely nothing to do with football!!

I thought Di Canio said he wasn't, as you put it, "a big fat racist", or did you mean Tony Puliis?

    Well said that man.

I have voted socialist all my life but this was a dream scenario and a perfect opportunity for Milliband to resign from the club. He could gain maximum political kudos and at the same time eliminate those boring flights from New York to attend weekly board meetings, after all he now has a nice little earner over there. The "phone hackers" are loving it though!

I reckon I'm gonna support Sunderland like I always have. Let the Oh So Pure Brigade cry & stamp their feet all thery want about Di Canio, let the morally high media who hack dead bairns parents phones sit with smug looks on their faces with their chests puffed out. **** the lot of them, the daft twats don't even realise that they are in essence behaving exactly like what they think they are fighting against.

like you did, i maybe should have put 'big fat racist' in inverted commas! Not my view! just making light hearted reference to the frenzied accusations being thown about!
Tony Pulis is not a racist as far as i know.....merely just a tit!

Without Milliband's self promoting, high profile, knee jerk resignation, this issue wouldn't be headline news.

Di Canio is a fruit loop, & there'd be many who would be questioning both his temperament & his ability, but I doubt his political beliefs would have ever been focused on in this manner, had it not been for the self obsessed Mr Milliband.

What it's now achieved is to raise the pressure even higher than it already would have been, there'll be plenty waiting & hoping for Di Canio to fail, for non-football reasons, which is a shame tbh.

Good luck for the rest of the season - I doubt it'll be dull!!

And that's exactly why I refuse to buy "news" papers. Every single one of them have a political agenda.
