He had a knock in a challenge with Adebayor and limped off - hope it wasn't the same injury, because if it is he won't be playing on Saturday.
Do not be surprised to see a different sort of Norwich to what you are used to. Yes we have a good record and got a win at your place earlier in the season, but we are playing so negatively at the moment. It will be 0 - 0 until about 15 minutes to go and then you will probably score. The only way it will be entertaining is if you score early ,which means we have to open up. Most of us are getting very tired with the tripe we are watching and dire tactics. We are not at all safe but hopefully we will just about get there, however if we do and do not change for next season, Hughton will be out. Just my take on things.
Thanks PGF Personally I am dreading this game, not because I think we will lose or get hammered but more because I don't want to see us with our backs to the wall for 90 minutes to hold on for a 0-0 draw - and that is what I think is going to happen. Hard and desperate times on the pitch for the once free-flowing, attacking Canaries
Whats happening with you? I've always rated Houghton and thought he'd be good for you .Still a game I'd love us to win but seeing how we've been playing lately I'd take a high scoring draw (just for the entainment value )
It appears CH has taken his brief too literally, which was to keep us in the PL. I am guessing the board didn't say how they wanted the team to perform - just get the points, so CH has gone in to his defensive shell and plays all away games for a 0-0 draw (a bit like Stoke). Problem is we are doing it at home as well!! We had 10 good minutes against Everton and won 2-1, 60-70 good minutes against Spurs and drew 1-1 (we should have been out of sight by half-time). We looked okay against a really poor Sunderland side a few weeks ago - until the sending off that changed the game. Those have been the highlights for this year! In fact, since our last meeting with you at the Liberty! Our board is a content free zone at the moment and the tide really is turning quite quickly against CH. A few calls for his head but most are willing to stick with it and see what changes happen next season but if it stays the same, he will probably be hounded out by the fans.
Pity in some ways as I really thought he 'd be a good fit .you haven't become a bad team overnight so if keeping you up was his brief then hopefully he'll have acheived that and given a chance next season could improve you further. How many of the current team are his players ?
um Tettey - Was okay but has dropped off a bit now Bassong - Still the main man at the back - Defender Turner - Has done well after a shaky start at the back - Defender Whittaker - Been out injured too much but looks good when he plays. - Defender Camp - Cost us last week with a howler! Bunn - Has done well after a shaky start in goal (Still too short for my liking) Becchio - Not getting a look in. Kamara - Being played out of position and not fully fit. Garrido - Another defender, can blow hot and cold though. - Defender So, in summary, the back line has improved with CH in charge but nothing has improved beyond the back line, indeed it has gone backwards. Normal starting line up at the moment is Bunn Martin, Bassong, Turner, Garrido Snodgrass, Johnson, 2 of - Howson/Pilkington/Bennett (none of these 3 have done it this season) Tettey if fit would play instead & Hoolahan Holt or Kamara
Thai, I am sure that you have got more than enough to stay up. Know how you feel on the defensive side, we had a year of it under Soussa and that was the only time i didnt look forward to going to the games. Look on the bright side you could be a supporter of either QPR or Sunderland.
Seems Norwich go out of their way to make it difficult for away fans particularly travellers like us who have a hell of a journey there and then take hours to travel back, our club on the other hand allow parking for away coaches directly outside the north stand (which has a great view) and after the game the police stop the traffic to allow a quick get away for visitors.....something wrong there
That is why i said a gutsy 1-0 win to be honest, we have lost our way for some time now as well as norwich so im hoping we are just that little bit better to start getting results again....i expect it to be a close game but i think michu will prove to be the only difference to give us the win....i hope anyway.....
Liberty swan makes some good points there about a day out here compared to Norwich. You get stuck in a corner with the sun in your eyes and can't park anywhere near the ground. Plus we're leaving the Liberty at 6am so it's getting up at stupid o'clock too. To be fair though we did stop at a decent pub last year and the pies and beer in the ground are very good indeed. I will be the one pissed and sleeping in the corner
Some good pointers here for anyone travelling on Saturday, particularly Delias Pies and Stroppy Stewards: http://www.footballgroundguide.com/norwich_city/#Visiting-Carrow-Road-Norwich
This is a very good information site. My 18 year old lad has been stewarding for a few weeks (only work he has at the moment) and enjoys it. He gets allocated all over the ground and was with the away fans last time. He spotted someone trying to have a crafty smoke , which they have to challenge (have they forgotten the law and what happened at Bradford?) but was crowded out aggressivley by the bloke's mates. Really brave of them.Yes you get a few stroppy stewards but most are helpful and doing a job to keep us safe (they have to do a course in crowd control). Been a big issue with standing the last few games so be wary as they are getting strict with it.
Standing !! Now there's something that really gets the back up on any regular fan that travels away to watch their team. After being on a coach from 6am and sitting down all the time the last thing I want to do is sit down in the bloody game because I don't want bloody DVT setting in Away fans should stand that's just a given and the stewards at every club should just leave the away fans alone. Too many Fcuking plastics wanting to sit down are spoiling the bloody atmosphere at games. The worst stewards are at Spurs, what a bunch of cocks, threatening our fans to sit down and doing Fcuk all about their fans standing up. The funniest way I saw stewards being beaten was at Fulham this season, the usual bollocks from the little hitlers to some of our fans who simply ignored them and proceeded to speak Welsh amongst themselves. I was pissing myself laughing. When the stewards got stroppy one of our other fans pointed out to them that these fans were simply exercising their right to speak their own language and had chosen not to speak English and any attempt to eject these fans would be racist in nature and he would take the matter up with his MP and the police back in Swansea (it wasn't you was it Dai?). The looks on their faces had to be seen to be believed and I'm pretty sure the police told them to give it up.
Totally agree re standing at away trips Dill - its a given. There was a ruck at Wembley because of it.
We had problems at Wembley too mate, not the stewards they were great just the plastics telling us to sit down. I wasn't polite to say the least. We were right by the netting next to the Bradford fans and their plastics were doing the same too
