I think some of the players were running on empty at the end, mainly Whelpdale if they wasn't then we may have won my more but well done, another team performance.

Before the match i said we will go up as champs if we won today and looking at the other results it looks nailed on now. Great performance today shame we didn t win by more goals but full value for the three points. Barrett was outstanding again and must be player of the season.:emoticon-0100-smile

gioblues - just to show that I can be kind to you - agree with your comments re our/Barrett performance - good to see the performances picking up as we approach the sharp end of the campaign.

Agree with all the comments on Barrett,he was my man of the match,Great day.Thought the team were really good, all worked for each other(except Weston who didnt seem interested when he came on).And what about that save from Nelson, quality. It made my drive back to Dorset a pleasure.

Yeah Barrett was my man of the match as well as he was immense today, Weston did not seem in the game when he come on which was a shame but I just think that was a one off.
Nelson also had a top game as well as Kedwell, Burton. I could list nearly all the team as many of them were brilliant, the only one I would say who did not have his best game was Fish who was a bit out of the game mainly in the first half where he did make a few mistakes but he has been one of my players of the season and he is my favorite so it was a one off.

Stonewall penalty, sorry but the guy is an idiot. It happened right in front of me and Evans is half way down the pitch. The guy went down in theatrical style in an attempt to cheat. Quite simply the ref should have shown him a yellow card for it.

Evans really is a beep beep beep bad loser. How can he complain when we should of won by 2 or 3 goals. Lets hope he gets the sack if they don t go up.

Went to the game yesterday and took my girlfriend to her first proper football match. What a performance it was yesterday, I couldn't fault any of our players yesterday. We deserved to win and probably with a couple more. You could see that Keds was screaming for a goal and was very unlucky not to get one with a very good save by Shearer tipping it onto the bar. I was a lot happier with Gregory too, his passing was better and he was able to spot Martin in space a lot more. Joe also looked quite a threat when getting high up the pitch. Barrett's defending was top class and Nelson, well what a save that was. The commitment from both Legge and Whelpdale to carry on playing when they were suffering from quite a bit of pain really showed how together this team really is. I would struggle to pick a Man of the Match because it really was a very good team performance by everyone involved. For me I think I would just go for Kedwell only because he looked quite sharp today and his defending from set pieces was top notch too.

I glad you mentioned about Martin, he seems to love his free role down the left and has excelled at it. Much better player for it and has gone from being complete pants to very good in my eyes for it. I noticed yesterday Burton occupied Martin's space a few times and hindered his runs. Burton plays with little movement at times and his unpredictability for the opposition and that in itself can pull players in, however, his static moments on the left need to be avoided imo, otherwise you might as well just put Weston on. Although I noticed when Weston did come on, he pushed up front, a good move and really how I want to see us play. MA just about nailed it for me yesterday, with the odd exception of the mid air ball. Very impressed.

OMG - its taken pretty much the whole of the season, but brb has actually complimented 'The Special One'. I'm glad you've moved on from your previous rants about playing 17-18 year olds.

It was entertaining stuff yesterday which has been a rare description at home yesterday. Gills were worth another goal but Rotherham were always a danger and it needed half a dozen "do or die blocks" to keep their sots away from goal.
Outstanding for Gills in my opinion were Barrett, Martin and Kedwell who were hard to separate, but like Pegleg, I would have selected Kedwell for MoM simply because of the sublime flick ons which were the source of most Gills' attacks. It seems no coincidence that the attacking intent has sharpened with the return of Kedwell as first name on the teamsheet.

Don't worry yourself so much Lenny. Normal hostilities will resume. But so GeminiSwift does not tell me off, I will be in celebratory mode for the remaining games. I predict a revisit to 'Youth' in the sometime forseeable future.
