Club statement regarding Paolo Di Canio: http://www.safc.com/news/club-news/2013/april/club-statement
After reading this statement whilst I still hold reservations about passed political views but you have to take into account the fact he has made such a statement. Whilst I am still vehemently anti fascist I will give him the benefit of the doubt and withdraw my comments about him until proven otherwise

Shame our first statement has to be on this subject. Bit of a circus at the moment. Though they did say they wanted to emulate them up the road.

Trevor Sinclair and Chris Powell should be interviewed and their thoughts on him aired to give a balanced view.

This has turned into a witch hunt against the bloke in the last 24 hours and to be honest its galvanised my support of him totally and ****ing pissed me off. Where were the sky tv cameras and debates when he was at West Ham playing or at Swindon managing? Why is he suddenly Adolf Hitler just because he is Sunderland manager? Maybe a siege mentality is exactly what we need right now and it may work in our favour for the next 7 games. **** them all I say.

**** the world and lets get going with this thing now.

He is very impressive on the SAFC interview, the players are going to get woken up and left in no doubt about what is required from them

Good statement now everyone should move on, focus on the football and support our new manager and the team.
Politics and football are seperate entities and should remain that way.

I think he conducted himself very well in that interview. Lets move on from the political ****e now and concentrate on football. He is very inexperienced but I have a very good feeling he's gona be a success up here!

Good post, froggy. Let's keep our perspective and judge him on what he says and does from here. Comments from outside parties are irrelevant to us and OUR club.
