The subject was NP's reticence regarding transfer targets. You held that up as a fault and I asked if Brucie did so too? Of course he does - why reveal your hand when playing poker?
Leicester never were rivals as far as i'm concerned. Once Pearson goes nobody will care about them. Although, this fixation (on here) with Pearson is annoying now. You'd think people would stop bleating on about what happened last year after we played them twice, and us doing so well.
Yeah i only think the original fixation was because we had done well, the club was on the up and we'd made some good signings so we was all dreading who our new replacement would be. Barmby then did a decent job but ended up losing it despite doing well (whether he could of kept that up, who knows) but we then got Steve Bruce who has been a god send. Steve Bruces Black and Amber army!
I'll still care about them, as they're my hometown club. So hoping Pearson stays or they poach Steve Bruce so this can all continue
Of course it's a ****ing virtue!!!! But some of our numpty fans seem to think the manager should be discussing targets and budgets!!
They'd be ****ing stupid to do so. Even though it could galvanize the squad, it could easily do the opposite. Bit of a gamble with 7 games... Saying that, I thought Sunderland would've kept MON till the summer... He'll probably replace Pearson as well.
Why not, they can still make the play offs, get a good manager in to galvanise them. They have good, really good players.
Sorry buy this is bollocks. If he HAD publicly said his targets Id have been furious, as would the opposition club. It was his surly attitude towards fans, never pandering to them from the media, that annoyed people. Not me. I judged him by results, if people wanted someone to throw fish to clapping seals then they should've stuck with Brown Phil.
More interesting than willy waving and Lesta bashing is why they have got 6 points from 10 games?? What has gone wrong, to a team of good players and a lot of cash spent? Like it or not they were agreed as our biggest threat and likely contenders a few weeks back. If they can capitulate, can we? In this division I wouldn't be too quick to gloat - more interested in learning any lessons.
Nigel won Manager of the Month for January and just cant shake the curse fully off. Nah, in reality, there must be something going wrong behind the scenes, their key players, such as Wood, havent performed since those 'rumours' of a bust-up between him and Nige.
The only reason I can see is that when it really started to matter, they floundered under the pressure. The players are good, I personally think the manager is good, but the mentality perhaps was weak. They seem to be feeling sorry for themselves. I am one of those who around January time expected them to be top 2, around or abouts, at this point of the season. Even I can be wrong!
I reckon Pearson pissed off chris wood. Started like a house on fire, got a lot of attention started to become all about him. Pearson would hate that and belittled his input. You may have scored 3 but you didn't track back!! Just my guess.
Dont believe your own hype. Pearson put that much pressure on himself and the team by taking the job to start with. Buying Woods only brought more pressure as they now had the complete squad to gain promotion. Tits up, ****s hit the fan all rolled into one, keep quiet and get on with it like Bruce has.
It's not bollocks, it's sarcasm..... Of course I wasn't criticising Pearson or any other manager for not revealing targets. But it remains a fact that many posters on this very forum thought he should have been. People also ought to realise the agenda that David Burns has and what his employers pay him to do...i.e. dig up news.
