He is good. I think people are a bit worried about him being like Coates and Pauletta before him but he is a much better physical specimen, on the ground with pace and in the air. Not sure on his distribuition if I am honest but think it would need to be decent for Rodgers to look at him.

De Vrij talk has gone quiet.

What about Samba if QPR were to go down. His high wages may be a problem and the fact he only recently went there, but is dominant in their both in a defensive and attacking sense and knows the Premiership?

No way would Lescott come to Liverpool after what the fans chant at him when he comes to Anfield.

Would he rather earn 100k a week in the Championship (and can QPR afford to pay him that, especially with the FFP that the football league have brought in) or would he rather take a slight reduction in order to play for a team competing for European places?

LFC scouted Feyenoord at weekend and all the talk was about Martins Indi, perhaps LFC dont fancy De Vrij or perhaps he didnt play, I feel De Vrij is in the Agger passing mould and not the beast we need, Martins Indi seems to be the one attactin our attention at Feyenoord now though

Don't they have "parachute" money for when a team gets relegated that they can keep paying some of the players the money they are still on? Thought I heard something with that?

We say that but there are plenty of players who are just content with the money, his move to Anzhi should show that he would rather play for the cash.

True about the parachute payments, not sure how much they are and if that would cover all the wages as the new FFP rules in the Championship are quite strict, something like not making a loss of over £3mil from what I remember. Whether QPR can keep paying high wages for the likes or Julio Cesar, Samba, Remy etc and meet the rules will be interesting to see.

To be fair, Anzhi were in the Champions League when he went there, and if it's a choice of Champions League football or Blackburn Rovers which would you chose? Can't blame him that Anzhi offer all their players ridiculous money.

Think that is what I am getting at, look at players like a Samba, Adebeyor, J Cole, etc who get put on wages that are way too much and it is incredibly hard to shift them as they now think that is their worth and what they are owed. If QPR go down think Samba, Cesar, Remy, Granero, will all be gone.

I'd take Granero, from those who will soon be relegated.

Has skill, good vision, but think he is one of the ones who Harry talked about with earning too much, not putting the work in, etc.

Well Carroll was relegated with Newcastle and we spent 35 million on him!!! <yikes>

granted it was a year or so later but still.

  20. Going purely on ability, the only player at QPR that I'd consider is Samba. However, his age and wages would make it a no!
