Interesting bit on Dede taken from Tim Vickery's column on BBC website.
Seems to be the type od CB we need, dominant in the air and having a bit of pace. Seems to think he'd fit wel to European football and with Lucas & Coutinho here then the "man management off the field" he talks about would be there to help him settle. Vasco in financial trouble so might be able to take advantage of that as well.

Dede, the Brazilian centre-back that plays for Vasco da Gama, was recently linked with my club Liverpool. Because I have not seen him play, would you be able to shine light on what type of player he is and whether he is worth the reported £12m-15m figures? Also what are Liverpool's chances of signing him and are Vasco willing to sell?

"I would have thought he's worth every penny. He's a towering centre back, quick over the ground, commanding in the air and capable of bringing the ball out of defence. His characteristics would be well suited to European football - though he might need some good man-management off the field to help him settle in.

"Vasco are in financial trouble and are resigned to losing him soon. Corinthians have shown an interest, but Vasco would prefer not to sell him to a Brazilian rival. He has some international caps, and so would have a chance of getting a work permit."

Lescott would be a FAR better option than Williams , as he would cost less than half the fee I suspect,and only just a yr older

But Dede is the one Id go for, Id also bring in Wanyama can play DM also ,and Id bring in Sahko as a LB who can play CD also

Dede will cost less than £10m, about £8m I reckon

I don't know anything about Dede or Wanyama to be fair.

All I know is Lescott is proven at this level, appears to be surplus at City and I don't think would cost t0o much.

Think him and Agger would be great.

 

We will need more than one CB. Carragher retiring is the obvious one but Coates is probably going and there is uncertainty around Skrtel too.

Lescott is alright but old and expensive, wages and fee.

Think Dede has higher potential than most of these but I think we need to start looking for the now players.
