What the hell as happened now?

As for matching IP addresses, a regular poster on here got banned recently (but unbanned now) for having 'two accounts' as the baccounts shared the same IP address. However, Never has explained that people can have matching IP addresses if they are in the same street/area, its just that both posters on here had matching IP addresses. At least that's how I understand the workings of IP addresses anyway

Swan salona I do use dial up when in Swansea. I use 3 network and also virgin when at my bro's farm ! Which I believe comes under neath port talbot council evwn though it has a swansea dial code.

I can see where musty ****ed up . Though not sure why he is stalking posters in his spare time !

It varies with provider, some provider give a user a static IP address, which mine is, when im using my PC, it never changes.

Some providers then offer non static IP's, which change with each time you turn on your router. Dial up used to be a great example of this, as a few years ago when using dial up, if I got banned from a chat room (youth days dont ask lol) all i would need to do is reboot the router, and viola, was back in ;)

However if a user who has been given my IP address gets banned from a site, for example, if musty had banned Norway for it, then I would be banned, as my IP doesn't change, yet Norway could log on again, and have a different IP and still use the site.

I will say I do find it strange how Norway was given my IP, when my net is never turned off, so for some reason Virgin may have had two separate users sharing the same IP. Which I will say I have never seen before, not at the same time anyway.

Valley its not as accurate as the same street even. Its only 50/50 at getting the same area.

A big mistake has been made by musty here. Its his job to mod not spy on people and falsely accuse them of having multiple a counts! I hope you can understand my anger on this.

Some of our posters have multiple personalities so they need multiple accounts. As long as they don't start abusing each other whats the problem? <laugh>

While its understandable that Norway is angry over this, can any unresolved issues over this be dealt with through PM in the hope that the board can move forward from this please.

I know bugger all about how IP addresses work and don't particularly want to know either but judging from past experiences of others it seems they can be misleading and land you up in deep water.

If Musty had suggested I had two IDs how would I react? I would probably have a laugh, tell him he's wrong and forget about it. Of course, how you react to these things depends on your own personality.

Blimey this is like following an Open University Computer Science degree course - we will be into static and dynamic IP addresses soon. Lets move on please.

I'm in two minds to open 27 new accounts call them Dilligaf 2-28 just to confuse every bugger on here (probably myself too) and talk the biggest load of bollocks under the sun. I could rant and rave like North Korea and complain about anything from the weather to Cornish pasties !!!!

I couldn't give a Fcuk about ip addresses or uv lighting or hd cables.

I'm off to drown the goldfish :D

Musty best not to play with what you don't know about mate! there are static and dynamic IP addresses, and then there are IP addresses for Routers and Workstations, I can actually change my Routers IP address, by simply turning off my router for ten minutes, and turning back on, then my ISP (Internet service Provider) will provide me with a new dynamic IP address, which of course will be different from my previous. There is absolutely no point in playing detective on this, unless you have some real idiot on here, but then you can simply ban him!....................<ok>
