In my view (for what it's worth) it's not about what we have said.....more about what we say now and if we are willing to admit our errors of judgement. DiCanio has never admitted his errors.
For example i've never made any secret to those around me of my previous political beliefs. I've realised that they were wrong, and that i was used by those on the far right, and the way i am now is shaped by those past errors in my judgement. Sadly, as said before, DiCanio doesnt seem willing or able to admit those errors, or more to the fact, accept them as errors.

No just errors but illegal in Italy. Both the "roman salute" and technically being a fascist (the PNF) are specifically banned by law.

PDC would never be given an italian Serie A club to manage, not even Lazio. There would be riots in the streets even in present day Italy if that happened. Why should it be allowed to happen here?

It's strange how there wasn't this uproar about his political views when he played for West Ham or managed Swindon...

He was a player not a manager at West Ham amd as for Swindon they are a small club in the middle of nowhere (no offence meant). Sunderland is a big club in an industrial northern city. Very different.

This will certainly attract EDL and BNP support to your club, do you really want that? One Chelsea is more than enough for the Premier League.

No it won't...These political organisations are very thin on the ground in Sunderland, and signing a manager who has made a couple of comments in the past will not change that..

This isn't uproar, go and sign Joey Barton if you want to experience uproar...

All this "I'm a fascist but not a racist" business is sickening. Mussolini having a Jewish mistress, Margherita Sarfatti, doesn't absolve italian fascism of racism.
