Wee Willy Wolfs Penis - looks to be an excellent signing, and will obviously be the main man. However, he will need back-up, may not find his form immediately, may get injured so what other options do we have? Holt - I think he will stay. He does offer something a bit different, and although he is now starting to show his age I think he still has the ability to influence a game from the bench. Probably not going to get more than £2m at best, so not enough to buy a replacement. Becchio - rather oddly hardly been given a minute on the pitch yet, so wonder if he will prove to be a desperation signing. However, think we will hang on to him, partly because I can't see where we would get our money back given how little he has played. Likely to be behind RvW and Holt in the pecking order. Kamara - assuming we can keep him, I think he represents a decent option. Hughton seems to favour him over Becchio at the moment, though I wonder whether he might actually prove to be a decent option on the left as competition for Pilkington. Martin - will be offloaded. Which leaves Jackson and Vaughan. I have a sneaky feeling that one or other of these two might be retained, as a different type of player to the other three. So, if our strikeforce consists of RvW, Holt, Becchio, Kamara and Vaughan/Jackson do we think that is strong enough?
It all depends if we play 2 strikers regularly next season. I think there will be large changes if we stay up this season for us to survive next season. We have too many championship players on the books and we must invest in quality rather see if we can patch things up and get away with it. Vaughan, Jackson and Martin will all go. I can see us going back for Hooper and might even take a punt on charlie austin.
I think it will be a virtual clear out, Holt, Martin, Vaughan & Jackson all sold. Ch is building his own team now & if we do limp over the line I can see big changes for next season. There are to many players in the squad that just aren't good enough for the prem.
Completely agree about Kamara on the left. A 4-2-3-1 with Holt up top and Kamara on the left could really work, if Kamara was given license to get forward and central more. Becchio is really seeming more and more like a way to get rid of Morison. I still think Becchio is a better player mind, but he's already 3rd choice, and could be relegated to Jackson-like appearances next season. He'll probably last next season then go in the summer, although I'd love to be proven wrong. I'd keep Holt for his leadership qualities alone, but I still think he's got another season or two at the top level, he's still got the ability to score, he's just been desperately short of service this season. Hopefully, the two wingers and attacking midfielder we're supposed to be bringing in (according to Wolfie) will help with service. Jackson and Vaughan will most likely be off, and Martin is out of contract anyway.
Perhaps. But it doesn't matter how good your forwards are if they spend most of their time in your own half.
I am still scratching my head about Kamara, more so after Saturday. We were made aware, before he signed, that he could not play as a lone striker in the US. We were also made aware that he was a wide left midfield player. So why the bloody hell is CH playing him as a lone striker??? He may be okay with another striker helping him out and as someone to feed off him but I have sen nothing to suggest he can be a lone striker at this elevated level, from which he was used to and indeed could not cope in such a role. In relation to the OP, other than RVW I have no idea who is likely to partner him, if indeed we play 4-4-2 next season (count out most away games I would guess) Jackson might as well go. Martin - if we can't get rid, shoot him
if we are so disrespectful to our players as your first line, we will be lucky to get Jaime Cureton. RvW will be off at the first opportunity with fans like you insulting him.
