On Eurosport now. Anyone else watching one of the best Classics races of the season? I couldn't get over there this year but my dad & brothers are there sampling plenty of Belgian hospitality Id like to see Thomas win this but can't see past a cancellara or Sagan victory . Time to crack open a Westmalle Triple and watch the cobbled hell
He's well set up for a third Paris-Roubaix win next week. I don't mind cancellara tbh but surprised he destroyed Sagan so easily
In the opinion of Italian TV Sagan over did it on the penultimate wall and paid the price on the last one. Amazing how C pulled out a 1 km gap in less than 10 kms out there on his own. One day classics are were it's at now. The Tours have become a farce with the Froome waiting for you know who act at the TdF summing up all that's gone wrong in cycling. There's still doping in the one day events but somehow it doesn't make things look so fake.
Agree Imaz the one day classics are great . I'm doing Paris-Roubaix and the Amstel gold, a couple of weekends of cycling beer & frites Giving the tour a miss this year doing the vuelta instead
The climbs are better on the Giro and Vuelta imho. Moving the Vuelta to later in the season has turned out positive. Thought it was a mistake at the time but I was wrong. TdF has taken well hell of a knock with Armstrong as the doped up winners of the other tours didn't have the same profile nor that run of victories in the same event. Whether or not Wiggins was clean last year opinion outside the UK isn't convinced at all. Sad really, TdF has lost credibility.
I'm in Spain during the vuelta so makes sense I'm dropping tour until next years Yorkshire stages which finishes in my adopted home town of Sheffield. Big party weekend for that one Tdf has lost a lot of credibility and if sky are dominant again it will lessen the appeal Time to get some Italian classics in? Milan-San remo??
