Average performance apart from most the lads, but 3 pts and thats all that counts, Suarez good, Agger good, Henderson excellent

Well it wasn't exactly the best performance, but like the Spuds game, showed a willingness to fight back and controlled the 2nd half. As they always say 'a wins a win'.

Did what all good teams should do; play pooly overall but come through with 3 points.

Coutinho had a good game, Hendo and Gerrard played well I thought, rest had mixed performances.

Lets not forget Man Utd struggled against Villa at Villa park. Arsenal only got a draw there aswell.

There's no ground that is easy to get a win at in the premier league, so good job even though we did make it hard for ourselves at times <ok>

3 points - played ok, nice football in spurts. Officials were dreadful - it's a wonder we got the pen!

Excellent result with Villa having a lot to play for. First time we've won from being 1-0 down this season (I believe). Results like this one and Spurs are real character building wins and they're starting to show we've got a bit of grit and willingness to fight back from losing positions. Cracking win.

Only because it was the most blatant penalty that has ever happened. Also, no booking. I think the referee stopped being quite so abysmal after Gerrard gave him a talking to.

Henderson plays well? What a shock.

Imagine if he had played more instead of Allen.

Disjointed but 3 points was all we needed. We are still miles away from the finished article and we seem to be getting worse by the week when crosses are coming in. Masses of work to do with the back line before next August.

All in all a reasonable performance, better second half, I much prefer us with Hendo in the middle (today just confirmed it for me), Coutinho showing glimpses again (needs to learn to go left occasionally tho) and most of all we battled back well from a tricky situation. Good to see that side of us.

Thanks to 6D for covering the match thread this week! Been busy this week so I wasn't able to do the match thread. Should be alright to do it for the home game with West Ham next week.

    -

Onto the game and it wasn't the best performance but it's three points and as is always the case, that's the most important thing. We still don't look very good, in a defensive sense, when we play against any sort of target man such as Benteke and that has to be a concern. Another good performance from Henderson and a lovely finish for his goal. (Also a great pass from Coutinho!)

Nice to see us battle back from a losing position and get the three points. Onwards and upwards and hopefully another positive result next Sunday when we take on West Ham!

A good win, wins like that give you confidence so good to see a bit of fight for the cause.

Lucas I thought was poor today to be honest and carra's shirt pulling was making me very nervous!

But good games from coutinho hendo and Gerrard <ok> well done lads

Hendos goal was great but Coutinho can make anyone a fantastic goal scorer.

Honestly... be sad if Reina or Suarez left in the summer but Coutinho is the most valuable (over long term) asset we have.

If we lose Suarez, Coutinho will turn the next guy into a major goal scoring threat instead.

Coutinho is the future of the club.

Johnson's passing was lazy. Lucas was never in the right position. Suarez was in lala land today.

Coutinho and Gerrard were the glue that held the club together and prevented us coming completely unwound.

Without those two we would have lost badly today.
