I have read DiCanios book and there is not much about politics in it, only a little bit about hooligans in Italy.

Imo politics aside he is the most realistic chance of us staying up

My choice is the same as it has been since Keane left and thats Moyes. I have said it before though I cant see any reason he would to us though.

We do actually have some decent players we just need some one who can get them motivated and playing attacking football.
 
I might go & put a tenner on Hodor from A Game of Thrones, he'll be the only one daft enough to think he can do owt with that team.
 
Bloke holds some shocking views. He is a bit of a twat all round. The question would be how long before he has a major bust up with Short as he is so volatile.

On the flipside he plays really attacking football which you haven't seen since Reid, and he is a really good motivator. With the money on the horizon next season you can't afford to go down. I think he may represent one of your best options survival wise but would almost certainly not be a long term appointment.

I'd take the short termist view because its a unique situation, and just try to pretend a facist is not picking your team for a while.

My thoughts exactly mate.

I can just picture the scenes outside of the SOL now, a horde of Ronald MacDonald hairdos & Austin Powers teeth working their way towards the ground wearing knitted by nana wooley jumpers & waving banners round like battle axes.

Poyet would be my shout but before we slag Hughes & Mclaren off a lot of people wanted MON and he f*cked up so we must give them a chance. Most of us will still be there long after the next manager has come and gone. I deffo do not want mclaren (think it will be tho) but my main concern is whoever comes in must have been talking behind MONs back. Total lack of respect imo.

Does seem that Short has had something in mind about replacing him & possibly having a word with another manager or two. Can't really blame him though, he's put a lot of his own money into the club & got very little in return. Would be a major blow going down especially with that new television deal money to go to the clubs next year. 3 points from the last possible 24 though is terrible, a working class man working in a factory who is say expected to build 24 units of something an hour but only produces 3 wouldn't last in the job long.

even though i've just said not to DiCanio on another post coz he's a short-termer, on reflection i think he is exactly what we need to stay up.....

Fergie really taught us a lesson mind after the rhetoric following the fixture last season. A double deflected goal against an awful team, damn! :tongue:

But in all seriousness, I wouldn't be unhappy with either Jol or Sam, I'd prefer Sam out of the two.

But I'd much rather we got a young up and coming manager. I'd love Di Canio, simply for the drama, Poyet I'd also be happy with.

Big Sam wouldn't need a lot of motivating for the derby match.
 
Di Canio is a **** up and a total disaster waiting to happen. Di Mateo far more classy but would he come for 7 games and give his all?

Poyet isn't going to leave Brighton to come here for 7 games and he may well be destined to become a Premiership manager in his own right next season so why risk coming here for 2 months?

We will get Hughes or McCLaren or the joke toser Di Canio tomorrow and with it will go any chance of EPL survival OR long term progress.


This is one of the very darkest days of my 39 SAFC supporting years. I hope the O'Neill haters are well chuffed when Hughes or McClaren are seen smirking to the cameras tomorrow.

Gutted doesnt cover my feelings right now.

Martin Jol's option for a year's extension was activated a few weeks ago, so stays at Fulham at least to June '14. He's expected to discuss new longer term deal this summer.
 
I'm afraid If you signed Di Canio you'd become my (and many others) most hated premier league team. He's a horrid little fascist, and I might add an incredibly sore loser. Poyet is also the stroppiest little twelve year old out there. When we were in league 1 with him we were the only team to beat brighton at home. After that game he said without Lambert we'd be Dagenham and Redbridge he's so sour it hurts. He also defended Suarez's racial abuse of Evra not long ago.

If Di Canio got 7 - 10 points in the last 7 matches there's a lot on this board would let him shag their missis.

Forget his politics, that's his business not ours, after all I don't think many of you will be influenced by him and be out there voting BNP if he keeps us up.

Would Benitez be up for the challenge? They get beat tomorrow he might walk. Not my choice but he is an experienced bloke.
