Not good reading that list in my eyes, but its got to be DiMatteo, premiership experience and did okay at Chelsea. I'm sure I read somewhere that when Bruce went, Short wanted Hughes but Quinny persuaded him to go for ONeil

Lee Clarke at 33's??? Which dopes are thinking he would be your next manager. Sunderland would be in meltdown if that happened (rightly so after the shirt incident!)

I'm finished with them if they appoint Mclaren.

I will NEVER watch them while that numpty is in charge. The man is a complete gland.

Obviously there are some serious issues PR wise with appointing Di Canio. But I think in terms of getting the required fight out of the players and the football he'd give you over the long term then he would be the man I'd be hoping for.

Me neither mate. We might end up with someone that's not the list & surprise us all. And not that its got anything to do with football but I think Di Matteo looks like what you would expect a baby Raptorsaurus to look like.

    Hi guys, Fulham fan here.

Strange timing for MON to go, but difficult times at your club. My main worry for you is that Leslie Hughes is shortening to 4/1 - if you end up with him, then the financial problems that some of you have expressed concern about will come to the fore. The man is great at spending other people's cash - that's why MAF didn't want him to stay; and look what he did at qpr with oodles of cash <yikes>

As some of you have said di Matteo is a funny looking android, but I think he's very sound. He's calm, thoughtful, competent - as long as you stay up this year, he could build something very good over a 2/3 year period.

    Good Luck!

I hope all the smug MON out lads are well and truly pleased with their efforts this morning looking at that list of **** ups.

Poyet wont come for 7 games and neither will Di Mateo, Ole Gunnar or any other manager worth his salt. As for Moyes? What ****ing planet are some on here.

All the names on that list apart form those mentioned above are **** ups and a complete and utter disaster waiting to unfold. When either Hughes or McClaren are unveiled tomorrow, will all the MON out lads also recognise the death knell for SAFC sounding as they are.

This is one of the worst and most hapless decisions I have ever seen at this club in near 40 years and I've seen some real ****ing pearlers in my time. Sacking a manager with 7 games to go is suicide and we have just fallen on our EPL swords today.

Championship football has just been guaranteed with this decision and has also seen 12 to 15k fall off the crowds next season too. One of them will be me and my 2 mates (also been going since the late 60's and early 70's.) We are not johnny come lately fans but dyed in the wool passionate loyal fans.

Our club is in **** straits today and I'm not sure we will recover ever again from this ****ing awful decision. Mark my words, we are ****ed big time today and this has not thrown us a lifeline at all.

Neither Hughes nor McLaren are impact managers. Has to be someone with a massive personality!

God knows who, but I'll put up with being called a hypocrite if Di Canio keeps us up......

Much as I loathe the twat, di Canio may be your best (short term) option. By "best", I mean least bad.
