On another day I couldve added Simpson, Meyler, Brady and especially Faye to my three. IMO, Abou, when hes played has been our best centre back this year, hes just been injured/not selected to have actually been our best (if that makes sense)
Faye has been one of my favourites. what a ****ing monster. I hope he can push a little more at corners as he is a real threat there. He didn't put a foot wrong tonight
Faye all the way, we're a much better defensive team when he plays. None of this pussy-footing around and passing to a team mate, just head and kick the thing as far as you ****ing can. Beast.
He was a man mountain today, felt so comfortable with everything.. even showed a little pace in the first half and did a terrific sliding tackle to put the ball out of play
Agree with the choice and the comment, definitely the two bits of magic that turned the game in our favour, the perfectly weighted pass and the clinical strike. Faye seemed to win every header that came his way.
Unfortunately, haven't seen the Evans tackle yet as my stream gave up the ghost just before the end of the game!
Evans the human missile, thats the best way i can describe it. in hindsight probably lucky he didn't cause a penalty but it did the job, was an epic heart in mouth moment after Stockdale lost the ball
Faye Boyd Hobbs Faye is just a beast, he doesn't miss a thing, he must be battered and bruised, does anyone think he might not play Tuesday due to fitness? Boyd just gave us that bit of quality and Hobbs was back to his pre injury best and played a great ball to Simpson. Evans tackle was huge.
I'm not aware of this Evans tackle - I was at the game so only saw it once. Was it the really hard one inside the box immediately after Stockdale dropped it? Boyd - genius Simpson Hobbs Faye played well too but I didn't like his hoofing today. It makes the tackle to win the ball pointless if you just give it back again. He's usually more sensible than that.
Yeah, the one were his 2 feet were like a foot of the ground and dispossessed the attacker with the back of his thighs. Also, if your going to criticise a defender today, make it James Chester.
I'm not criticising at all. Chester did have a shaky first few minutes but thought he settled down a bit after that.
1 boyde 2 Evans 3 mayler .. No criticism for any player required today they all played their part in the victory
1...Boyd (immense all-round performance) 2..Faye (the rock of the defense) 3..Meyler (worked his socks off for the cause).
Boyd Simpson Faye There's been more than one " signing of the season " but I think Boyd will end up being the best of the lot. Real quality, gets about the park and obviously a real goal threat.
