The rigid Hull City tradition of always making life difficult for ourselves makes it almost impossible for me to contemplate a win on Tuesday that would leave us 7 points above Watford and possibly 9 above Palace with only six games left. It would make us clear favourites for 2nd (at least) and possibly allow City fans the luxury of enjoying the rest of the season without becoming complete nervous wrecks. Watford's form gives us every right to feel optimistic and at home we should have the advantage, but somehow I can't bring myself to believe it could happen, simply because it only happens to other teams. I still think we'll go up, but chances are we will have to suffer every step of the way as usual. PS. I'm writing this in a desperate attempt to tempt fate and no-one will be happier to be proved wrong if we're celebrating a crucial win on Tuesday.
optimistic by their form and most importantly the fact we are playing at home. All the decent teams that have come to KC have struggled. Palace, forest, lester, leeds and so on... we've only done bad against **** teams. I personally think we'll draw 1-1 or 2-2 but hopefully we can win.
our last 4 before Cardiff are against 4 of the so called strugglers but this is a truly bonkers league. you'd think that lining up against Ipswich, Barnsley, Brizzle and Wolves would yield 7 points minimum but like I say it's a crazy crazy league as Posh have demonstrated twice against the league leaders this season. Ipswich might be safe by the time we play them and Brizzle and Barnsley might be down but WHO KNOWS?!?!
Steve Bruce has managed to deflect pressure/expectation away from the players and himself in superb fashion. The pressure is now all on Holloway and Zola who cannot afford many more slip ups (if any).
I'm gonna start praying for a win. It will be absolutely huge... can you imagine if blackpool get something out of palace too? won't be easy game at blackpool against former team.
Win our next 2 (possible if we play at our best + both at home) we will possibly be 10 points clear of Watford and hopefully 9 or so clear of Palace (defeat to Blackpool?)
Especially with Blackpool's shocking pitch, could make it a scrappy game which won't suit them. Happy Days!
Congratulations, you have now created the gap necessary. Now it's just a matter of holding or increasing it. We've been doing that since last November and I have to say it's worse than being in the chasing pack.
@PJBuckingham Here's a thought... If #hcafc beat Watford on Tuesday, they would need 13 points from last 6 games to guarantee promotion.
I'm rather hoping that you bury watford And that we have a game to remember at your gaff on the last day i.e both up but playing for the crown.
