    Wigan are like Lobsters...

Lobsters dwell in the depths of the ocean without a care in the world about what is going on above them. Once a year, the adult lobster will start to moult and is hence vulnerable. During this time, it retreats to a hiding spot and withdraws out of its shell. After moulting, the lobster's body is very soft and it can take a few months for its shell to harden again. When a lobster captures a prey (especially prefers crabs), it carries it to its shelter to eat it. But they also feed on dead organisms that they come across. They move by slowly walking on the sea floor. However, when they flee, they swim backward quickly...a speed of 5 metres per second has been recorded. This is known as the caridoid escape reaction.

Wigan dwell in the depths of the Premier League without a care in the world about what is going on above them, quite happy with their pathetic points tally. Every August, the team has brought it 5-7 foreign players that nobody has ever heard of before. Understandably they take several months to develop and get acclimatised, during which time the team are defensively vulnerable. During this time they retreat to 20th place in the League Table as they start to forge a cohesive team, which now has an ability to defend and starts to flex its claws again. When Wigan capture their prey, with a particular preference for Top 6 clubs, they are ruthless in crushing them. But they also feed on dead clubs that they come across for example, QPR or Reading. In January, they move slowly, however come late February they start to flee, moving quickly up the Table...at speeds which under any other circumstances, would be considered Championship-winning form. This is known as the Wigan Escape reaction.

It is understandable therefore that Norwich were crushed 1-0 by the Lobsters of Wigan today...hope you all enjoyed this!

The Titanic...chug along merrily for a fair few seasons of happyness, then Martin O'Neill (the iceberg) impacts and as the ship fills slowly with water. Captain remains frozen to the bridge as the unthinkable has happened; disaster. Once half full and filling fast, sinks mighty quick...

Edit: even more true now that O'Neill has just been sacked
