I`m pleased for Hoover after his shaky start to the season - he`ll be getting his confidence back -a goal or two before the end of the end of the season will see him back to near-cult status.
Three cheers for Mr Moss, the nearest we have had for a "homer" Ref all season, and thank you lady luck, (where have you been all season?) the lads did great and we got what we deserved.
The best part of that .gif is the contrasting reactions of the two groups of fans. Chelsea's are absolutely motionless.
Wow, what a great result. Very impressed by the tactical decisions today, we adapted our play in the second half to meet the threat that Chelsea presented with good, timely substitutions too. It wasn't pretty but sometimes you need to hold on to what you've got. MoM for Poche.
This guy on the radio is classic, saying Lambert not being in the England team is Robbie Savage's fault!
I've been saying that for ages now. It's partly why I making such a big fuss of Chelsea's fixture pile-up on here (prior to the date of their replay being announced), and how it would almost certainly impact on when our game against them is played. Put yourself in Rafa's shoes. I'd want a trophy on my CV. Of course he'd like to finish in the top four, but I doubt he'd lose sleep at night if they did miss out. He'd only be setting the new guy up with Champions Leaque qualification. (Ironically enough, would Jose return to Chelsea if they failed to quialify for the CL? It may well be that the Chelsea fans need Rafa to do well for them, to enable their hero to return).
Great win today! 6 points out of Liverpool and Chelsea, who could have predicted that? When I was driving to the match and Chelsea's team news was read out on 5 live I punched the air in delight! I knew then we had a good chance of winning. And to those who questioned me when I said Chelsea could rest some players: I TOLD YOU SO! What a strike from Rickie for the winning goal (we've waited a hell of a long time for a trademark Lambert free kick). And well done Kelvin - came on and was very solid and in tricky circumstances.
Yes, I listened to all of that too. All he needed to say was that practically every pundit had not vocally backed Lambert for England and he would have been entirely accurate. He did make the point very well that everyone says that other teams have off days, rather than being made to have off days by a superb Saints performance. Apparently, 5 LIVE commentators today [Grahame Le Saux and Co] were saying it was down to Saints being great rather than Chelsea being poor, so that makes a change.
People ripping into Savage on 606 about Lambert not being in the England side. It's really quite funny.
Yeah, he's getting absolutely battered on the texts. Lambert more intelligent, experienced, clinical... all from neutrals. Artur missed out with dizziness according to Mauricio.
Grahame Le Saux is a very good commentator, and having played for both clubs, professional in his judgement compared to Merse. The Skate!
I can't believe this debate has even lasted so long on 5 Live, Lambert is infinitely better than Carrol in almost every way, comparing them is almost insulting to Lambert.
