He's in midfield, the holding midfield role, which consists of always offering an option to lay it back to to keep hold of posession, but he's not there to pass Deary me, I'm guessing Simpson and Boyd aren't there to score either, and Stockdale is the playmaker

I think we've been crap, but they've been a bit worse. Passing by both sides has been poor. Elmo & Brady are getting a lot of joy, which could be the key to winning this game. I think Gedo could be really useful here. Running in behind defenders and something to aim at when Elmo & Brady get in crossing positions.
even so.. we arnt even trying to keep possession and pass properly. as said above we're playing very nervy, understandable i guess..
It's a pity because we can outplay them, we've had one good spell off passing and they looked worried. If all else fails, get a corner and get it on Faye's head.
We can't play a passing game when our platform can't pass. Drop Meyler back into holding, bring Cairney on the left side, or drop Boyd back and bring the foreigner or Gedo on along simpson.
Koren and Meyler are the playmakers in this formation. He's supporting the back 3. So no he's not meant to be Pirlo.
