That was the most spiritless rubbish I have seen in years. Hughton has installed boring, mediocre and defensive football and it gets worse game by game. Clueless, Im fed up with substitutions far too late and a manager showing no ambition. Struggling to express just how poor a performance that was. If youre not worried for the rest of the season then you should be. We don't score enough to stay up or even look like scoring.

Hope someone gives the players a bollocking and hughton more importantly.

This seems silly but Hughton IMO is the worst manager we have had since Grant. Hes ruining my saturdays.

If we get relegated does Wolfswinkel still join us? How are we the only team that Wigan manage to keep a clean sheet against at home? Bloody terrible!

I'd imagine that he would still join you<ok>

However, it's also quite likely that he would also have a "relegation release" clause in his contract too...

Could be the first player you have contracted who signs and then is sold without playing a game for you! <laugh>

    Agreed.

I am trying hard to remain optimistic but a good number of people on here, along with other places have expressed concerns about our lack of .....well, nearly everything in front of the defence.
We could well end up paying a heavy price unless there is a far more attacking stance taken for the remaining home games. We have just got to go for it against Swansea and Reading now and I am not buying in to the 37 points scenario for the time being although after next week, Wigan do have some very tough games ahead of them.

Yeah, McNally confirmed on twitter that he'll be our player regardless of the league we're in.

My worry is hughton will realise our tactics are too negative after the last kick in may
Ffs, swans season is basically over, we need to attack them next weekend
Also look at the bench, very limited options on it today bar holt and bechio.

Because we always play for a draw! We're still four points clear though and I don't think we'll play as negatively against Swansea because it's not a 6-pointer.

In fact I reckon Stephen Hawking could have done a better job than Camp did! Pathetic goalkeeping!

My first post on here in months and here is my advice...

    Positives:
    1) Wigan always play out of their skins at the back end of the season...they regularly cut the big 7 down to size
    2) Sunderland, Newcastle, Reading, Villa and QPR are shocking at the moment...Southampton had a lucky break vs. a complacent Chelsea (Torres, Marin and Moses are the worst front 3 to line up for them in the last 5 years)
    3) Ruddy will return to the first XI soon enough to rescue our season (I truly believe this..."come the 4th month, the messiah will return to save us!")
    4) We have signed a top European striker who is vastly better than any in our current locker (88 goals in 183 European top flight games is fabulous)
    5) Tettey returns soon
    6) Pilkington returns soon
    8) Camp will never play again hopefully as our GK
    9) Even should we return to the Championship, we will tear it apart with our current team. Hughton will change the tactics to attack and we know fully well what happens...we score and we win. The likes of RVW, Holt, Becchio, Pilkington, Snodgrass, Johnson, Hoolahan, Bassong, Turner, Ruddy would be some of the top players in that division.
    10) Lee Camp is awful and thankfully we won't have to put up with him again this season hopefully...remember we are playing our 3rd choice goalkeeper - at any other club this would be effectively game over

    Negatives:
    1) Our strikers are in shocking form
    2) I really feel for Becchio (comes here, gets almost no chances, benched, no time to get used to the PL speed - normally 6 games min., good thing is that if we return to the Championship we will still retain Holt, Becchio and now RVW)
    3) Holt is absolutely knackered after playing for most of the season as the main man with little help until now from Kamara
    4) E Bennett needs to go come summer, he is not PL quality as a winger
    5) Why the hell isn't Surman being given an opportunity? He offers more than EB surely?
    6) I feel that this could be the end for Fox...
    7) Come the end of the season, Holt's penalty miss could prove costly
    8) This 2nd half of the season is without a doubt the most boring football I have ever watched at Norwich (Hughton's negative tactics are killing us)
    9) This season has also shown that we need to buy a playmaker to help share the workload, assist and eventually replace Hoolahan when he retires

that game had 0-0 written all over it.One poor mistake cost us.If we dont get anything against Swansea then we are truly in a dogfight which when you look back we should never have been in.Key games are all of our home games really, win 2 of em and we are safe.

With us approaching every match as a one pointer we need a big result against the Swans, and by I mean approach the game as a six pointer.

Just got off the phone to an old work colleague of mine who is a Wigan season ticket holder and watches both the Warriors and Latics. His summary was that we bossed the first half without actually creating anything and they dominated the second half and deserved the win. He thinks that the Latics will escape relegation this year with it being between Sunderland and us as the team to go down with QPR and Reading - I probably wouldn't argue that point right now. I asked him what he thought about us and I'm going to quote him verbatim here - he said "You're not going to like this mate - I thought you were very poor-possibly the worst side here this year. No invention, too predictable and no end product. I fear for you matey". Those were his words - sad aren't they coming from someone with an objective view.

Let's remain positive - we can get the points we need but we do need to improve the quality of the end product as my mate calls it - whether we have the right players to do that right now is questionable but we have to hope that we can. Let's get behind the lads on Saturday and roar them to a much needed victory.

Fact is we don't like scoring, as I've said on another thread ONE ****ing attempt on goal in 180 minutes of football. That's pathetic and it's CH's fault, ONE lucky win in FIFTEEN matches COUNT 'EM ! There aren't many clubs who wouldn't sack their manager after such a pitiful return. HUGHTON SORT IT OUT NOW !!!

OCF, those were my approximate words at the final whistle.

In the ascendency first half, bossed possession, territorial advantage, etc.

Second half, we defended too deep, invited them on and never threatened the Wigan goal. Of the goalmouth incidents, well, they were all at our end - best thing Howson's done for months, hooking that ball off the line!

If there was to be a winner, Wigan shaded it. We got - and deserved nothing.

P.S. I have no wish to fall out with fellow fans, but I won't just sit back and accept dross, which is what we're fast becoming. Just asking, how inept do we have to get before Hughton questions his tactics and formations?
