Sunderland one down, a good start for us. Have to keep hoping results go our way...

If Sunderland get anything out of this one it will be a travesty. They are so far of the pace, all over the place. Watching them gives me hope.

I know it's sad but getting excited about results going our way. I think reading may do something funny today unfortunately.

They can be as funny as they like as long as they lose. I can't see Adkins doing much with their run-in...

Can't agree everyone wrote him off with Southamptpon and was harshly sacked IMO.

Man Utd are notorious for looking dodgy when 1-0 up this season. Sunderland getting back into it now!

I agree he was harshly sacked but I don't think he can do much with that Reading squad this season. I think he's been appointed to get them back up next season but he'll have his work cut out with that squad...

Fergie has played a weaker side today and it shows now...

Chelsea have made 7 changes to their side for the game with Southampton.

    Rafa = clueless.

I can see Saints getting something today.

In all honesty I think Saints are too good to go down...

    I agree.

They impressed me when we played them at home and from that day, I fancied them to stay up.

Sunderland lost, that is good (I wish it was in our own hands and I didn't have to look for other peoples mishaps)

I think Saints will beat a weakened Chelsea at home. As said above, I don't think they'll go down anyway. We need to look to Reading,Wigan,Sunderland,West Ham and Villa for our salvation imo.

Southampton (31 points) are 2 points behind West Ham (33 points). If you include West Ham, you must include Southampton Col?

Personally, I think both of them will survive.

I think it is 3 from 4, ourselves, Reading, Villa and Sunderland. Reading and QPR are strong favourites to go and either of the others with Sunderland looking particularly dodgy at the moment.

We have to hope we take 6 points from our next two matches and hope the gap has closed to 4th from bottom. If the gap doesn't close in the next 2 games, it is curtains.

That's the realistic battle, if I were a Sunderland fan I'd be bricking it...

No mate. I think Southampton are in better form than West Ham and have a more favourable run in. I think they'll stay up with a bit to spare. If we take at least 4 points from our next two games, we'll still be in with a chance imo.

All will be clearer next week after the Wigan game.

In the meantime, come on Arsenal, Chelsea, West Brom and Norwich (where are you Gandy?)....

We must take 6 mate. Seriously, the time for draws has well and truly passed.
