SFA was angered by Sunderland fans doing the Poznan and celebrating the fact that you lost the title up at their place last season. He said, in a later interview, that he would not forget what had happened and hinted that Man Utd would have their revenge this season. Now obviously the guy was hurting from losing the title, but how serious was he about Sunderland? With this year's title in the bag, and an FA Cup match at Chelsea on Monday, how seriously will he take Saturday's game? Obviously he will put out a team that he feels is strong enough to win, but if you didn't have such a big lead in the league and the Chelsea game 48 hours later, I suspect that Sunderland would have felt the full force of Fergie's wrath this wekend. So is stuffing the mackems really that important?
Getting the three points is what's important, i care more about the points than i do chelsea in the cup. Personally I couldn't care what your fans did or do. That's just football banter.
I found it a bit sad myself, celebrating someone else winning a league when you've got **** all attachment to them, but it's water under the bridge. I doubt Fergie will have forgotten. We'll take it seriously though. The aim is three points every time so expect us to come to win. In fact I hope we put four or five past you, not because of last season but because I like us to play good stuff and score goals. Certainly won't be embarrassed by a one nil win though!! As for Chelsea, we'll take that as it comes. I know they need the league points more than we do so have more of a juggling act as a result. The only thing their manager is capable of juggling though is plates.
Any other supporters would have done that, and back in 1987 when we went down to the old third division there were a load of mags in the roker end that night after we played Gillingham they took the **** and there could have been a war after the game, and i believe after the Derby in April there will be a riot at St James if we lose and O Neil will cop it.
hope this will motivate us facing a club that has kind of fans that prefer to see a proper like UTD lose the title and see artificiality pumped up £££ club win it instead fans with such a mentality don't deserve to be in PL
It was strange that those fans sided with our rivals when United and Sunderland have such affinity, many of our players have joined Sunderland and many have had loan spells there. Either way, Fergie's expected to play a weakened team starring Hernandez. So there'll be goals? The question is, can Sunderland score? They've looked seriously constipated this season and with Fletcher out, the job's got harder.
team I want to start: De Gea, Rafael, Vidic, Rio, Evra, Valencia, Carrick, Anderson, Nani, Kagawa, RVP team that will start imo: De Gea, Rafael, Vidic, Evans, Buttner, Nani, Giggs, Anderson, Welbeck, Rooney, RVP
I'd like to see De Gea Rafael Smalling Evans Buttner Anderson Cleverly Powell Welbeck RVP Nani That way we can rest Rooney, Evra, Vidic, Rio, Carrick, and Chicharito for the Chelsea game. Hopefully RVP will bring his goal scoring form back from the International break with him. I'd really like to see Powell get some game time in the first team, I can't see him starting, but with Carrick an obvious starter against Chelsea I think he should rest up. Kagawa will probably start instead. Hernandez is a must start against Chelsea, he always seems to score against them, and their fans seem to hate him. If he scores they'll be on our board complaining about the "C" he makes with his hand in his goal celebration.
The OP is nothing but a **** stirring Skunk Mag twat...Yes it was a bit sad that a small section of our supporters took the piss that day. However, if you had won the league, a hell of a lot more of our fans would have stayed back and applauded your team around the pitch..
I was embarrassed and frankly ****ed off about it to be honest, for the reason mentioned above, the affinity and great relationship we've long had with United. I fancy a 1-1 tomorrow, **** knows why, bank holiday weekends and the mixture of toxins in my blood are probably ****ing my brain up.
agree sir alex may be tempted to play chicha against Chelsea for the above reason but doubt Sir Aelx will start with powell .. too soon for him and can see him resting Welbeck for chelsea game trying to get chelsea on the counter I think we may see giggs starting as sunderland will sit back and defend and we will need more creativity and flair than pace
I don't see any reason to hold any bitterness against Sunderland or their fans. To do so would be a lot more pathetic than what was nothing more than some banter from the opposing side on the day. I'd rather they stay up actually, reckon the league's better off with them than QPR, Reading, Wigan or Villa. As for the match i would certainly rest a few players, Put simply we can afford to slip up in this one and we can't on Tuesday. That's not to say we wont "take it seriously" though, we're still going to want to win. Manobear's line up is pretty close to what i'd do, give us some leftover for the Chelsea game, while still putting out a side we can be fairly confident in.
