Went down the village local for lunch....and had 3 pints of Tydd 'Scoundrel', large (skinned) cod in beautiful 'Scoundrel' batter, home-made chips and peas.

    Evening Chazz,

I think it was a mini consortium that took over from the Witch. ( of regulars ).

    They can't make it profitable.

    Returning keys to brewery.

    Thats bad news.

Not a good pub but i drove down Greenwood Ave earlier this week and they've pulled Greenwood pub down!! Bit of a ****hole really but it always seemed to be busy. I remember going in there for a pint on a Monday dinner time, back in the 90's, and it was like a Saturday night. Mind you me and my mate were the only ones in overalls!!

Greenwood's going be replaced with an Iceland(frozen food shop, not the country).

There's still pubs closing everywhere, my local's shut down forever and in South Cave, the Fox and Coney has been shut for months and now The Bear's about to close. The four pubs within three miles of me are about to become one.

I'm afraid beer just bloats me these days so it was fish from the fishy shop, mrs ref did the chips and peas, then a bottle of red and settle down to watch a bit of snooker before I went to listen to my music. As I type this I have You Tube on in the background playing a selection of songs I have chosen, by the way the fish was haddock and was quite nice, mind you at 7 quid for 2 large pieces I should think it was.

My Dad was a regular at Greenwood, he went there on the day it opened and had a couple of pints in there on the day before he died in September, the pub closed the next day.

My family is fairly well known on North Hull. My Dad ran the Wednesday OAP club for many years in Greenwood and me If me Mam doesn't know our Mam, your Aunty or Your Wife's Mam you aren't from Hull.
Last week my Sister described someone who she had been talking to at the bus stop. My Mam said that she must have been so and so, a couple of days later my Sister met the woman again. my Mam had got her name right and even the names of all of her family, the street where she had lived during the war and where her Dad had worked. Only in Hull mate only in Hull.
