I disagree. The boycott (and the reasons for it) will receive national coverage via Sky throughout the whole game whereas we don't know yet how much of the media / press will cover the demo.
The other thing to consider is that 400 fans only constitute 10% of the potental away attendance and revenue HTFC could have had for this game and that will cause a lot of repercussions for WYP via the club and the FA.

Craig, that's the point. The coverage is guaranteed inside the ground and a vocal, protest of 1700 would have sent a very clear message - no ambiguity; especially is many of them could be tracked from the march to the stadium.

If the projections are correct then we could have looked at have somewhere up to 2300 supporters denied a ticket bt supportive of the protest in either Huddersfield or Hull; as it is we have anonymity which really supports **** all.

There will be no financial repercussions for WYP as it seems that 1300 tickets are unsold, but if it could have been shown that even the minimum allocation of 2000 had been issued then receipts would have been effected, on 4000 the loss would have been significant.

The strategy of the protest and boycott has missed a trick.

Dunno why this didnt occur to me before but I just realised something. With the exception of 1 or 2 (OLM springs to mind who I know does make an effort normally) who I would normally expect to go to a game like this, I suspect the majority of the ****ers being all internet warriory and calling those of us going to the game names and calling for a boycott....wouldn't have gone anyhow, and most likely rarely attend away games. Especially seeing as its on Sky. So that's just downgraded your idiotic views even further. Remember to listen out for songs tomorrow especially for you btw.

You're making far too many assumptions and you're making them far too early.

I suspect there will be extensive media coverage of the march, repeated mentions inside the ground while the game is on Sky and if there's a big turn out for the march(and people staying to watch the games in West Yorks pubs) WYP will end up with major headache on their hands, along with the massive additional costs of bringing in officers from other areas, due to having no ****ing idea where all the City fans actually are.

Best to see what happens before declaring it a write-off.

No your not looking at it the way the press and media would, and more importantly the interpretation they would convey.
Only 400 travelling fans for a Yorkshire Derby when the away team is vying for automatic promotion is a conspicuous statistic that can't be ignored. If 1700 fans turned up it could be construed that the majority were happy to follow police restrictions and only a separate demo was any indication of the anger of the fans.
If the press wanted to be negative they could highlight the contradiction of full (1700) away attendance against the arguments presented by our supporters and come to the conclusion that we shot ourselves in the foot.

Posters on football message boards tend to be more passionate fans and include a much higher percentage of travelling fans, considering around 75% are boycotting, I think it's safe to assume many of them are posters on this board.

Fez.I say scab because that is how it seems to me.I am using the word that seems most appropriate imo to the actions of some.
I could go on about "scraping the bar..."but having read through your previous tedious pseudo backwardsing and forwardsing with others I will not bother.I feel sure you will need to come back but please spare us all just this once

Why? The lack of support as we were outsung by a handful of away fans at the KC hasn't held us back so far.

While I'm in full support for the boycott and think what the WYP are doing is disgusting, why have a go at the fans that are going? What about the fans that travel to away games on tiger travel all the time? Why should they boycott the game? It doesn't effect their travel, they normally take this transport so why should they miss this? They are just as important to the club as those like us who like to go and sing. Everyone who I spoke to Burnely had stated that they aren't going. Players supporting the boycott is a massive plus and even if we do take only 400 I still think it makes a statement. Especially when most fans will be marching outside. I just hope they don't impose the same rules against Barnsley!
Big day for City, bigger day for football.

Everyone who knows me on here (possibly only OLM and son to be honest) knows that this game would normally be a shoe-in for my and my regular independent travellers. We are all boycotting this one. This is important for football fans Nationally. Shame on the flaskers, who will no doubt be the first to f:acepaint up when/if we return to the Premiership

Magic .I go on tiger travel and do not drink.I am boycotting the game and going to udders by car because I support the principle that police power should not be abused.I feel I and other fans are being abused and if we do not make a stand it will get worse and matches will become sterile things.I would then stop going and doubt I would want any part in what was left of the game /team I have followed for almost 50 years.WE NOT ME on this occasion .If you expect me to put up with those going implying they are just being loyal without me expressing my gut feelings about them it will not happen.
There are alot of better ways for me to spend this SAturday but it is time to make a stand
I have spent many crap away matches in miserable weather when there were only a few of us there.I am sure some of these heroes where there-and I am sure many were not.

Everyone has the right to do what they want and those who go to the game aren't the enemy here.
Personally I think they're misguided because the reputation of our supporters has been insulted and a visible and audible response is called for, but if they see their support for the team at Hudds as more important, then I for one respect their decision.
Let's not be diverted from focussing on the WYP who are the real antagonists.

Why do you try and shoe horn face paint into everything mussy? I've never seen anyone apart from under 5's with their face painted.

A flask at your age might not be a bad idea anyways.........

I have not made any assumptions except that I do believe there will be no financial repercussions for WYP because of lost ticket revenue and I don't because it would be a nonsense claim. Other than that all of the figures I have used are either taken from the posts of those I am responding to or are our allocation (1700), normal minimum allocation (2000) or the capacity of the away end (4000).

I said I think they have missed a trick - the trick being doing the opposite of boycott, I have not written it off as I believe the two working together would have had far more impact , there is a very clear difference. No trouble from our fans and no headache for WYP.

Craig, certainly that is a way of looking at it, but with the PR machine of FSF and clubs behind it 1700 attending and more not able to because of WYP could be turned into a very damaging argument against the actions of WYP. The fact is we will not know for sure as the die is cast. Looking at the results so far today tomorrow is massive, let's hope those 400 Flaskers, scabs, whatever they are viewed of can get behind the team and lift them to 3 points.
