So you are saying that Rangers fans are - by and large - violent, abusive drunks and that Neil Lennon bought them a bottle of whisky?
Ok, Hearts fans are violent abusive drunks. How do the people who sent Lenny the bombs fit into this?
"We have two games to go and anything can happen," said Lennon. "What we are looking for is somebody to compete and give Rangers a game. "There has not been much evidence of that in their previous two games. "Even if we had drawn the game against Inverness on Wednesday night, I'm not sure goal difference would have made a difference, looking at the two games that Rangers have had. "Dundee United have something to play for now (a European place). "The results went for them at the weekend and they are looking for a result on Tuesday and we will be looking for a result on Wednesday. "I didn't see the team Hearts put out, we were training at the time but listen, every team has their own agenda," added Lennon. "I'm not going to cast aspersions at other clubs. "I didn't see the (Rangers) game yesterday so I'm not going to sit here and criticise anyone's performance." What part of that statement would inflame the Hearts fans? I would hazard none of it, the press manipulated Lennon's words so he would be seen as stoking up trouble and trying to cause offence. They got their wish. There are 2 solutions to the Press and Neil Lennon's disagreements over what was said and what was meant. 1: The press stop misquoting, twisting and misinterpreting people's words 2: Lenny refuses to speak to the press If Lenny keeps his silence then Celtic fans don't hear what he has to say and the Press are free to speculate on what he is thinking. Plus he will doubtless be accused of paranoia or being ignorant by refusing to speak to the press. The press never attacked Lennon at Tynecastle but THEY fanned the flames, not Neil Lennon.
