So, who's going to be joining West Ham in the Championship next season? Two from Blackburn (15th, 40pts, play Wolves A), Wolves (16th, 40pts, play Blackburn H), Birmingham (17th, 39pts, play Tottenham A), Blackpool (18th, 39pts, play Man United A) or Wigan (19th, 39pts, play Stoke A). Blackpool and Wolves for me.
I think that Blackpool and Wigan will go down as I cannot see either of them picking up any points whatsoever and Birmingham would have to get beaten by 2 more goals than they do. I expect Wolves and Blackburn to draw (as much as I can't stand Mick McCarthy). Neither Blackpool nor Wigan would be dominant in the Championship next season but they have better players than we do. I would expect the Hammers to dominate the Championship with the three who remain from the playoffs as well as TWS, Blackpool and Wigan. I still expect us to wallow in the second quarter - unless by some miracle we sign a couple of real strikers.
I did the predictor the other day and ended up with Birmingham and Blackpool going down, though I'd much rather it was Blackburn and Wigan.
Same, after how they got rid of Big Sam when there was no reason to it would serve Blackburn's new owners right. I did the predictor yesterday and i got the same two teams to get relegated, and although i expect Brum to get beat, Ben Foster has being their saving grace this season so it may not be a thrashing against Spurs, but obviously this depends on Wigan losing at Stoke or Blackpool at Man United (i predicted Wigan to draw at Stoke). Blackpool will attack Man United but even with their second string they'll still be too much for them, as we found out 2 years ago (but thankfully survived). I'm not sure West Ham will dominate the league like Newcastle did, due to the size of the contracts the owners and fans expect the big name players to leave, and hit with the financial problems of going down i don't expect them to be as big a threat as expected. TigerRoo, cheer up mate! The season only finished 2 weeks ago, we may see more activity once the premier league finishes today. I'd be more worried if by a months time we haven't heard anything. I don't get why people seem to be worrying about a lack of signings so early, i don't even think anyone else in the Championship has done any business yet either.
Blackpool and Birmingham for me, think it'll be pretty tepid actually with these two comfortably losing all day, only issue would then be whether Wigan can get anything which I think they will. Don't think Blackburn or wolves will come into it at all
Think it'll be blackpool and birmingham coming down. Also guessing a number of domestic arguements will be started tonight with the famous line 'don't worry, it's only a game'.
Blackpool have gone about staying up all wrong.. as soon as they had 30+ points or whatever it was in December, they should have thought about changing their game slightly, instead of the "we'll score more than you" which just isnt possible in the prem. Also Holloway should have sold Adam in Jan too, what was they offered, around ã8-10m ? he was in the form of his life and some big clubs came knocking, plus the lad wanted to leave. so sell up, get a good deal and spend that on some players to keep u in the league. Since then their form has dropped, it obviously caused some kinda trouble in the team when their star player was stopped leaving for a big club. I'll bet anything if blackpool go down they'll be lucky to get ã5m for Adam.
Blackpool will get nothing at OT. If SAF had played his first choice players they'd be all trying to avoid injury. He'll play the likes of Gibson and O'Shea and they will pick Blackpool of on the counter. 4-1 Wigan will get a point at Stoke who are without Etherington, Pennant and Huth, three of their most important players. 1-1 Birmingham are on the bones of their arse, phusically and psychologically. Tottenham will muller them. 3-0 Wolves and Blackburn will settle for a draw 0-0. So for me it will be Blackpool and Birmingham.
SAF has already confirmed Van Der Sar, Fletcher, Berbatov, Scholes, Anderson, Evra will all start as they need game time. thats a pretty strong lineup already, add to that Gibson, Obertan and a few others..
Blackburn and Wigan hopefully. Poorest of the teams in my opinion, the good players they have will leave and i think they'd be average teams in the Championship. All the better for us.
i expect a new channel to come out of today caalled Sky ESP. The day after the world was going to end, how could they have known we would need survival sunday. How long before murdoch becomes Davros the killer of real football and Master of the Universe?
