Having a look at the fixtures and we have three win-able games and everyone else seems to be playing each other above us. The postponed Bradford game (a tough game to win tbh) being postponed offers us a chance of nine points out of nine. I still think we will come of short but imagine four games to go and three points off the playoffs? Could we do it?
no. but take 1 game at a time and we'll see in 3 games time top half finish would be amazing compared to where we were before ward joined us. but who knows.... if we keep winning.... we may just do it.
Just thought I would pop the update in here. Garry Kenneth responded to John Ward's appointment as Bristol Rovers boss by insisting the club should still be aiming for a play-off place this season. http://www.thisisbristol.co.uk/Garry...ail/story.html To get to the playoffs a team needs roughly an average of one and a half points per game over the season. So somewhere around 69 points. At that time Rovers had 18 points from 22 games. So with 24 games to go, they needed another 51 points. In our fantastic run under JW the Rovers now need 18 points from 7 games So realistically only 1 defeat left in the bank. It would be great if we could be playing against that other lot on their way down next season. Aaaah!!! the ‘if onlys’ of football.
View attachment 22471 I will have some of what AG is on,anywhere above the relegation zone by the end of the season will be more than satisfactory after such a poor start to the season under Magoo. As for the playoffs planet and what are you on come to mind, pointless even contemplating a run into the playoff zone, first of all we need to confirm safety this season as the cut off point willl be higher this year. Nearly there just need it confirmed and in the bank. COR
If you get there you would be the team with momentum behind you - probably too much to do though to be honest
smhbcfc i agree, too much to do, especially as we lose o'toole for the last 5 games and we have no replacement either for him.
