Yeah just been on here and see that, sadly I don't do backups of that as I have never thought of needing to do so but that is a bit annoying as I will have to rewrite it up but luckily it only takes me between 15-25 minutes.
Hoadie - I always do a back up of my prediction stuff although had not at the time updated this weeks predictions. I managed to get on just in time before Mick took the site back three days. So everything saved for me. We are not the first community to be attacked and we will probably not be the last. The only good thing so far is at least we have managed to save the site.
It is looking like a proper hack rather than a user (a really clever hack as well). It will be SQL injection, where someone has managed to get a bit of javascript into the database through a badly programmed php script on the site. No user details, emails or passwords have been compromised. The hacker has not got into any administrator account and he has not logged into the server itself.
Not an amateur by the sounds of it then. I am very good with computers but don't understand all this hacking stuff, what do people get out of it, people must have a lot of time on their hands to do stuff like this so why don't they use the time to do more productive things like work? I just don't understand why people are so sad that they would want to hack places, it is not about money as they would not get money out of hacking this surely?
I have re-posted it now. Backed it up this time and will do that from now. There does seem to be a bit of a problem uploading images and also editing it seems to be a problem as it clears the text, just wanted you to know that so that no one else loses anyway because when I went to go to advance before posting it I would have lost it if I hadn't backed it up in a word document as it disappeared.
Just a reminder of the site notice at the top of your screen. If we revert back to the most recent database version, all post/threads will be lost. Therefore it is important you keep a back up of anything you do not want to possibly lose.
I've been checking with other mods and the site should now be coming up all clear. If you are still seeing the message then you might want to clear your cookies. What a week! I just hope all our members come back to reinsert their loyalty and not let these hackers win. If you still get the message then it would be helpful if members could tell me your browser and your search engine.
