Shola to get new contract

The lad has come in for some stick over the years, but between him and Harper you'd struggle to come across a more loyal servant.

Glad he's staying a bit longer. He's an ambassador for this club and is probably great with youngsters and team morale. Comes accross as a real gent as well.

Seems daft being honest. I'd use a new contract offer as the carrot to drag what use he has to us out of him. Been a lazy character over the years but off the pitch you can't knock him. Last couple of seasons found a niche role as the big you bring on towards the end of games when you're ahead to kill the game.

 

To behonest, I'd only like Shola to stay with us, as a 4th choice Striker.

 

Shola is dog ****e. In a playing capacity he offers Newcastle nothing. Hopefully we will sign a top striker in the summer.

 

I don't think that's fair. He's never gonna win the Ballon D'or, but he's had his moments and even this season there have been a few times when he has come on and done better than Cisse, and before him Ba. He isn't consistent, but I feel he's using his head more now and has made some important contributions as sub.

 

His game has never changed the entire time he has been here. Shola plays like berbatov, well tries to play like him, comes across as lazy. Unfortunately for shola be has no where near the ability of berbatov. I'm sick of watching him play now. Scores the odd goal, has the odd flash, but at this level it's not good enough.

 

Maybe I just cut him too much slack cos he's a Geordie, but I like him

 

This is how I envisage Shola when he's our manager and we're the dominant force in Europe under his tutorship.

Love him or loath him, Shola Ameobi is a Newcastle United legend now.

I'm not bothered either way personally.

He's produced moments of pure class & moments of pure ****e over the years...
