The point is surely that they told Webber to slow down as well - he did, making it easier for Vettel to get him I quite like Vettel, but he is in the wrong here.
I have to admit, I felt so much sympathy for him and yet found it totally hilarious as well. Supporting Hamilton, everyone said he was just going for the money, Mclaren would always be better... But they simply are a clown outfit. Every other pit-stop should be accompanied by circus music. No wonder Hamilton wanted to leave! It was funny when Lewis drove into their pit... Was half expecting Mclaren mechanics to say "awww, shall we f*** up a pitstop for old time sake"? On Vettel, he's an utter douche. Webber did turn down his engine, Vettel fought against team orders knowing he's their main man and will get beggar all punishment. Webber's close to tears in his interview. I understand race-drivers prerogative, but that was utterly pathetic from Seb. He's bullish, arrogant, but he's a world champion so he probably doesn't feel like staying behind a driver who he knows isn't on parity, talent-wise (let's be honest) or team status wise. To be honest, the post-race top three was more interesting than the race (which was utterly boring really).
Different circumstances mate. Vettel was flailing in that race and much the slower car whereas Mark was told by the team that everything would be kept stationary and rightly holding pace. Clear difference is the fact that Vettel actually carried through with his threat whereas Mark didn't and ultimately respected the orders of the team.
Missed the race, looking at the fallout now and can't say I'm surprised. I doubt anything will come from it on Vettel's side. He's triple world champion at the end of the day. Mark however now has a super sized portion of chips on his shoulder and with the comments from please log in to view this image I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to hinder Seb's season. I have lost respect for Seb though. He whines too much. What happened with Kimi? I'm guessing the Lotus isn't any good in the rain and he didn't have the pace of Melbourne?
Bwahahaha.... That did cross my mind too. I was relieved when I saw they waved him through. Also funny how it's called "Doing a Jenson".
Although Rosberg had urged Brawn to reconsider over the radio, after the race he said the squad's instructions had been correct. Hamilton said subsequently that he would be happy to return the favour in a future race, but Rosberg said that would not be necessary.
