Honest - I'd rather you played in goals (as that **** Townsend would say) than him.

I would ****ing love Shearer to sue me.

I would gladly pay compensation or whatever just because i'd be pissing myself laughing for a month.

    Alan Shearer < Tommy Sorensen.

Can't believe there are people on here who rate Ben Foster and actually suggest we sign him. He's linked with numerous clubs recently, often quoted at 10 million quid. I love it because i love seeing clubs other than Sunderland and Man United making pathetic signings. I've never seen a game where Foster hasn't been awful. The amount of mistakes he's made this season is laughable. 10 million quid? Shocking. He may make the odd excellent top corner save, but so does every keeper in this league. Hope he goes to Spurs for 10 million, he'll be the same as Gomez. Kingston is one of the worst keepers i've ever seen.

This may sound left field, but I would take Tommy Sorensen back and I would also offer Super Kev a one year deal. Perhaps my romantic side is getting the better of me, but I feel they could do a job and both have red and white blood. On a grander scale and it seems I'm moaning about Bruce all the time now, when actually I quite like the fella. But bloody hell, if I was Ellis Short and Brucie came in to see me after the last 2 seasons and said:

"Sorry Mr. Short, I know when you employed me, you asked me to build a good young side that can compete in the top ten regularly and perhaps win some silverware, and you subsequently gave me 50 million of you own cash to do so......Well...........................I was just wondering if I could scrap it all and start from the begining again....Oh and if I could have another 30 million for players because the ones I've brought in are either made of glass or just plain crap, I would really appreciate it."

Surely our Texan saviour's head would be close to exploding!

In an 'i was there when he saved Shearers penalty at St James and he'll forever be a hero' way.

His mrs is fit as ****, but i wouldn't bone her, cos she's Tommy's.

    How about that for idolism.

That thought actually crossed my mind when I was watching the FA cup final. Tommy is still a good keeper and may be keen on a return, if approached.

Bruce got half that 50 million back on the Bent sale alone. I don't think Short will worry about giving Bruce the money. How many bad signings has he made?

Isn't the bent deal over installments, the first of which you owed spurs. You can't look to e money you are due to make off bent as it isn't in place yet and the add ons up to the 24 mil all all performance related. I could be wrong but thats what I understood.
I'm trying not to have a dig here but you lot keep going on about who you want in etc etc but don't seem to accept the fact that getting the money isn't going to be a given. Bruce will more than likely have to offload more dead wood to generate some money in turn reducing your squad. When I think of the state we were in 2 year ago compared to what you lot had to look forward to, I would of loved to be in your position, now, if I was a Sunderland supporter, I would be very nervous. Just shows what can happen in 2 year.

Installments or not, I was making the point that Bruce's transfer dealing's overall have been good. I'm not assuming that we will spend a lot of money, just making the point that whatever Bruce spend's we usually get decent value for money.
