That must have been before they paved over the pool to build new houses! Remember our form being so bad at sports but we always won the inter-form swimming - why o why did they have to get rid of the pool
oh dear....dreadful attempt on the treadmill today...i have no idea how i'm going to make this 10 mile run in October...i need to do better!
You need and incentive to get you going for every extra amount of time you do you should treat yourself not to food but as treat to yourself, get your nails done or something girly I managed to get another mile into today and a colleague of mine was trying to teach me the correct technique for breast stroke but after using my bad technique for so long (I use a scissor kick with my breast stroke) I just could not get used to it So I may try in the future to correct my technique but it is like starting all over again, which I am not to keen on
breast stroke is one thing i can do...oddly i have a very effient stroke which means i can go a long way without doing much exercise lol. The running is bad because i can't get the breathing right, and when i get the breathing right, my leg hurts! I really feel i'm letting my friend down...i'm raising money in her name and i told her before she died i was going to do this 10 miles..that's my incentive Al...doing it for her...and right now..i'm failing her...and it's not a good feeling...
After receiving the 'lose weight' command from an orthopaedic surgeon at the end of January, I've been manfully attempting to do this by myself ever since. Last week, having reached the stage where new and smaller clothes were required, I duly ordered some online - they arrived today (not quite sure why it takes a week to get from the south of England to the north of Scotland, but hey ho). Imagine my horror when I tried on the jeans - which I had deliberately ordered a size smaller than I thought I would be (in true Scottish style, to get more wear out of them) - they are actually a tad too big & will probably be far too big to wear to work when the holidays finish in 11 days time. A quick call to the wife to help re-measure found that, in nine weeks, I have dropped 10 inches off my chest, 8 off my waist - and lost 14.5Kg. All that without the aid of any exercise - am wondering what will happen next week when my daughter lends me her exercise bike.
Would you like to pass on the method BB? To reduce that much in a short space of time, without exercise, sounds just what is needed out here.
A bit simple really - a mixture of change of diet & portion control. For example, I've halved what I have for breakfast - which is usually only either porridge or poached egg on toast - meaning a drastic reduction on butter, bread, cheese & milk. Have stopped snacking on bread and eat fruit or raw veg instead - the apple trees in this part of the world have been stripped bare. My one daily 'treat' is about 50g of mixed dried fruit, nuts and seeds. Lunch and evening meal is usually pasta, and lots of it - with tomato based sauces only. Any other meal we have , such as chicken, I've only been eating half the amount and filling up with salad rather than chips/potatoes etc. Oh - and the hard part, no alcohol. That was a New Year resolution anyway, and tbh, i haven't really missed it.
Does anyone know anything about Polar Heart Monitors? Mine seems to have stopped working, I presume it is piece that fits round the chest as the wrist/ watch still works and if I buy a new chest piece does it have to be coded or uncoded? I bought mine second hand and I have already replaced the batteris in the wrist/watch anyone any ideas?
i start again on Monday...3 stone to lose again...amazing how i yoyo! But it'll help me run, of that i'm sure...coz right now i'm struggling. Gotta be done I'm actually looking forward to getting back in control, never thought i'd say that!
My other half is trying the Mayo diet!!! it sounds like a meat and veg/fruit diet, we shall see but she was told she could lose 20lbs in a few weeks! I look forward to seeing if it works As for the chest strap it is a sealed unit I will pay a visit to our proper little sports shop and ask them!
As you appear to keep yoyoing - I'd be inclined to say that you equally look forward to losing control!
