How about this from the "Portuguese Press" thread? Quote: "This is fantastic news and will force a change of playing policy if he is going to score goals."
The only thing it is "forcing" is a retreat by those who have been so vociferously claiming that we face a future of dire defensive football as long as CH is in charge. <ok>

Amazing signing for you guys (or anyone in BPL for that matter!) Hopefully, it will force Hughton to play a more positive style, like Norwich teams in the past. Good luck for the rest of the season :)

RVW is a great player and I can't wait to see him in action. Pre-season tickets just got a whole lot better!

This is the best sign that we are improving our quality this summer. Evolution, not revolution. It's exactly the kind of thing I wanted to see happen and we have blind sided a lot of clubs by doing this. There is an established order and by rights we should not be buying a player like this, and I love it that we have.

And it's not about "forcing Hughton to play better football", we've proved we can already its all about personnel.

Last season Bassong came in and his end of the pitch is a very different place when he is in the team. With RvW I am dreaming of some kind if similar impact.

    What A Signing!

If it has even half the effect on the players it has on the fans - they will have one hell of a lift for the end of the season.

It's such a statement of intent that the club want to keep advancing.

McNally is a football fans dream come true!

So a manager buys a player to "force" himself to set up his team to play a more positive style of football? What rubbish. This is a manager building a team to play the kind of football he wants his team to play. Those who think that current performances are anything other than performances "of the moment" are simply wrong about CH, and have been wrong from the start. <ok>

Sorry, you're right "force" was definitely the wrong term! You've actually summed up what I was trying to say. Although, my point was if you have a weak strikeforce (which I would say you do) it's tempting for the manager to play a more negative and defensive style. That is what Hughton has done. But now that you have signed real quality in RVW, it means that Hughton really has no excuse to play the negative football and you would hope be more inclined to for his team to play with a bit more freedom.

I'm really excited to see RVW in the PL next season though. If used correctly you'll finish in the top half easily!

Agree, Robbie, as I have felt all along about 'evolution, not revolution'. I don't see a clear out Max, maybe another quality CM who can defend as well as attack, another CB and Garrido on a perm and another quality LB. That would do me!

All I can say is WOW! What a signing this could be!!!! Now this starts to show some real ambition by the club and a big well done must go out to them all. Its not that it is a big money signing, but the fact it is a player with undoubted quality in a position we need to strengthen and on paper at least a player who will help improve our options.

The club have built us gradually without taking huge risks financially, now (hopefully) we look set for a third PL season they have taken the next step. Very exciting times

Bassong plays it out to the feet of...

Biglia, has a look to see what's on and see's the run of...

Weimenn, Biglia threads through a beauty of a ball which he latches on to slightly wide of the area. He looks up, crosses the ball and there's....

VAN WOLFSWINKEL to score for Norwich City and maybe win the FA Cup for Norwich City.

Maybe Norwich will hold that substitution of Hooper on for Weimenn for a bit now <whistle>

One can only dream, but that dream has begun!

I bet young Wesley Hoolahoop is looking forward to having a player of RvWs pace and mobility ahead of him - this could be the catalyst for several of our existing players to raise their game substantially, Bradders, Tettey and Pilks all spring to mind <ok>

As an aside, I have it on good authority that, in order to underline the fragrant relationship between the Club and BBC Radio Norfolk, McNally moved early to capture RVW, to give Chris Goreham plenty of time to practice his name.

Also this signing may improve our chances of signing other good players. They will look to see RVW sign, oh norwich have a bit of ambition and something about them. Could be the start of an exciting summer

Put this deal into context. hes cost the same as a certain Jordan Rhodes and look what were getting!

And he's probably on less than Rhodes too...
