First leg, we sealed a win. A 4-0 win to be exact. Lovely buffer to be sitting on going away to Bosnia.

I suspect the fact that it was a team made up entirely of greyed out players helped us out. Not that I'm complaining, the payday we're getting is immense with treble the attendance I get normally, and TV deals, and I'm (hopefully) building the game up in NI and hence improving the national team, which is what I'm aiming for with this save. Although I do see it turning into a career game over time.

The 3rd Quali Round draw just took place, which has just drew us out to play the first leg at home...to Real Betis, if we get through the 2nd round unscathed. It was always gonna be ugly, with Marseille, Genk and AZ Alkmaar/Vaduz as the "seeded" teams we could have been drawn against.

Surely Betis is where this little run ends.

I would love it if it didn't end there, but alas I expect us to crash and burn at the hands of Betis.

Some housekeeping with regards to the state of NI football in my game:

We drew 1-1 in Bosnia, hence went through 5-1 on aggregate. We are also the only team left from NI in the Europa League, with Glentoran having went out 5-0 on aggregate v Rosenborg in the 2nd Quali Round, and Portadown having been beaten in the 1st Quali Round by Kilmarnock 5-3 on aggregate.

Linfield are still in the Champions League, having come through the 2nd Quali Round 4-0 on aggregate vs Racing FC of Luxembourg. Their performance in Season 1 also meant that the NI representative in the Champions League no longer enters in the 1st Quali Round. The fact they are now in QR3 also means that, if they lose v Young Boys in QR3, they will go into the Europa League Playoff Stage. In summary, NI's coefficient is getting beefed up immensely, hopefully meaning we can get more representatives into Europe sooner rather than later.

The NI national team finished 3rd in their World Cup group, which contained Denmark, Uruguay and Qatar. They were level on points with Denmark in 2nd, but goal difference counted against them. Interestingly, they were the only home nation that qualified.

If we're crashing and burning, we're doing it in style. No doubt the away goal will kill us.

The funny part is, I played on Defensive for the first 70 minutes. I had no intention of going for a goal at all.

Ah well. Linfield beat Young Boys, meaning there will be some NI representation in the Europa League Group Stage at the very least.

Beat my PB for number of players in the team of the week. 9 out the 11 are from my beloved Saints team and I didn't even field my strongest side!

    Hello guys,

Its been a little while since I posted on here.

2032-33 things have started to get weird on my game. I lists a few:

Liverpool have been in league 1, now back in Championship.
Fulham dropped out of the Football league.
Cheltenham (my affiliated club) are now in premier league.
Top four last season Saints, Man Utd, Bristol R, Tottenham.
and its impossible to play 5 games in 9 days.

I'm really enjoying FM2013, as you can tell.

    How is everyone?
    How your FM careers going?

Just pulled what is quite possibly the greatest escape in the history of Football Manager. Accuried 5 points from my first 26 games in the premier league with Cardiff City, Won 10 of my final 12 games, including a must win final game of the season at the Emirates. Exquisite.

I need suggestions for an African national team to build, preferably one that hasn't really done much in the past.

Mali haven't done much in the past but they have some great players at the moment, so that could be fun. When I was managing in South Africa, the game loaded all the teams from other Southern African countries, and I noticed some exciting talent came out of Angola. They'd be fun too, I reckon.

I was thinking Kenya, they really have done nothing in football. 5 AFCON appearances, never made it past the Group Stage.

Not sure you'll get many good regens out of there (if any). It'll be a hell of a challenge.

Does anyone have a link to the face/club badge download packs that are good to use?
