Laudrup has NEVER signed a Danish player. If he signs one it will definately not be a young (expensive Cornelius, Eriksen, Fisher) talent. He sign will get proven players that he worked with in the past, my guess is (if he signs Danish players at all):

Kahlenberg - he used him in the Brøndby days; sold him to Auxerre where he was a key player. They sold him to Wolfsburg (when they were on the up), he got injured and out of favor; now he's on loan, God knows where, quality playmaker cheap for sale: ta - daa!!!

Elsewhere, on this site, I've hoped for Bendtner to come to Swansea, but I've convinced mysel that he's too expensive - not to buy, but his wages are likely to be higer than Swansea can match.

But I still don't think Ludrup will get Danish players, because there will be too much pressure on them; he said that in an interwiev back in Getafe ...

Cracking result for Denmark last night beating the Czech's away 3-0. Surely there must be 1 or 2 decent players on that team we could look at ?

Absolutely, fantastic result. I you fx could sign simon kjær Wolfsburg for defence when ash leaves for man u you'll be happy. But he's a top earner as Bendtner is.
The FC København players are difficult to get though: they are young & will want to play CL-groupstage next season. They will come to PL, or bundesliga, in due time.

Helenius, from Aab(Aalborg), woluld be fantastic signing as a sub for Michu...

Could you write up a scout report on some of these young Danish players Mikra?
Stats on Wikipedia are nowhere near as good as a knowledgeable football fan whose watched the player with his own 2 eyes' assessment.

Yes agree with Terrorwit on that. Would much prefer to read somebody's opinion on a player than look at stats etc.
Mikra, any defensive midfielders out there that could do the job for us?

Andrea Cornelius - 19 yrs - is a tall/Strong cf with a very good left foot. Currently top-scorer in the danish league. A product of the FC København football college.

Nicolaj Jørgensen - 22 yrs - has represnted danis national teams at all levels. came to FC København this summer from bayerLevekusen on a loan contract. The contracts buy out clause was used after Jørgensen played a few game only, as he really impressed: Scoring in his first 5 league games!!
Strong tall good technique: could be compared to Jesper Grønkjær. More Physical though, not as technical

Yes by all accounts the Canas deal does seem to be done as there are a lot of guys on here referring to him a lot. Was thinking on more of the lines of a back up DM or a good youngster coming through that we could mould into the position for the future.

Bendtner would be a MASSIVE gamble but he obviously does have the talent and maybe Laudrupwould be the best person to unlock that...

I believe Bendtner IS the player to buy: he's good, he's got something to prove and he's relatively cheap...

I cant see any Danes signing for us unless they are the right price and fly under the radar, seems the ones mentioned are tied into bigger clubs with premier intrest coming from the big 4 , we wont compete with any of that and i dont think Laudrup will really want to have his countryfolk playing under him either. I think Laudrup is a very astute guy and if he maybe signed 1 Danish player the pressure on that player would be extremely intense, how many times is a bright young Danish talent called "the next Laudrup" ? ..<laugh>

I think that Laudrup has his targets sorted out already, if there are Danish lads in there then so be it but i doubt Laudrup would want to burden them with expectation.

There are no doubt some good Danish players out there but the ones that can play are out of our price range anyway, Laudrup is using the spanish market as that style of technical player fits very closely with swansea .

Question Mikra, The Danish leagues. Apart from a few teams would you say the standards compare to the Norweigen leagues ?

From what little ive seen i would say the standard is higher in Denmark but not by that much!

I will be in Kobenhavn in May, my company is chartering a plane for us and our wives/girlfriends to have a weekend there, look out for 80 drunk Nogs (and one welshman) in the capital or heading out to Christiania to mellow out !! :)

Well the Season has just started over here Terrorwit, the first round was last week, im due to take in a couple of games soon FK Viking in Stavanger are the nearest one most of the time but have to say the standard is quite poor, about L1 level actually.

Put it this way, a player like stefen Iverson was still playing last season ans still doing a grest job !! any player that is any good is playing in europe. The problem Norweigen football has is that it has to compete with the premier league and championship ! you would not beleive how any people follow English/welsh teams over here there own team very often becomes an afterthought or they dont even bother going to watch any games !

Nah, I'd say Scandinavian leagues are on a pretty equal level, with FC København standing out as the only team with a true Europea level. Rosenborg are starting to look good again; don't know much about Swedish football. I have firm belief that that FC Københavns ranking as a top-50 club in Europe is a true reflection of the teams strength. Which is also why FC København is able to fence off interest from the likes of Sunderland... :emoticon-0157-sun:
