Indeed, seems like the common sense thing to do, but then again I suppose we're talking about FIFA here so common sense doesn't apply. If they weeded out another 13 teams to take it to 40, they could have 8 groups of 5, there'd be a couple fewer games (The amount of international breaks is another pain), and most of those games would be of a much higher quality.
Not good for Beefy as he had Sweden as his team 1 in the cup final. I'm very happy with that score although I also had Sweden and Zlatan as my scorer.
So in these crucial games: Sweden 0-0 Ireland - Sweden still a point ahead of Ireland for 2nd place. Hungary 2-2 Romania - Hungary denied a massive 3 points in the final minute of stoppage time. They remain 2nd, but level with 3rd-place Romania on 10 points. Norway 0-1 Albania - Potentially the most surprising team in these qualifiers. Albania move into the playoff place at the expense of Norway. Bosnia 3-1 Greece - Bosnia now have a 3 point lead at the top of the group. Greece still 2nd and Slovakia squandered the chance to catch them.

Glad I wasn't the only one who noticed. I think it's hard not to find it mildly amusing at times, but you'd expect better from supposed professionals on national TV.
Well, there was news before the game that a SPL manager had said to kick Bale out of the game, to stop him and Wales. He took a whack on an already sore ankle and didn't come out for the second half, so in a sense, they did. But I agree, they didn't do a Uruguay on him.
There was a shot of the Uruguay bench a few minutes back and I'm sure I saw one of them smoking..! Maybe it was cold..? But only one person with smoking breath..?
I bloody hope they throw Chiles, Southgate, Townsend, Tyldesley & Dixon into the deepest darkest prison in the country and never let them out. Although Chiles would survive, he'd be munching on Tyldesley within minutes. Southgate is 85% horse, so will be left to last as Chiles picks their carcasses clean.
Bale didn`t get any `special` treatment, despite the tongue in cheek (and complimentary comments) of the Dundee manager. Bale is a superb player - he was a Saint once !
