Gutted Gutted and double Gutted !!!!!!!!! Missed out again in second ballot, god knows what you had to do to get a ticket ? Paid for all 10 home cup games as per criteria but still not enough. I need at least 3 tickets ( we have 4 season tickets - North stand ) Have any of you guys been successful in the ballot ? Does anyone know any genuine Utd fans that want to sell tickets at reasonable prices ?
I'm sure there are plenty. But I doubt any of them want to sell tickets to the biggest match of the season!
Thanks " Swarbs " you have made me feel much better ! I was just interested to see if any other reds had been lucky in the two ballots, as I have not come across anyone yet who has obtained a ticket via United. I have been surfing the net to find some and there seem to be plenty at the "ticket agencies" ( modern words for touts ! ) but the prices range from ã1200 to ã 5000 for 1 ticket, so where do they get them from. We also sent several bids into the official euro ballot earlier in the year, but none of us got a sniff of the 11,000 tickets on offer. The whole thing stinks, especially to someone who has been all over Europe watching United over the years but I guess it is not going to change in the near future.
Just thought I would let you lads stop worrying about me, I've just taken the best phone call I've had for a long time, I've got a ticket for Saturday YES, YES, YES !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice, enjoy going to game! The closest I got was a free programme for the game, will be £10 on the day.
Great atmosphere in the pubs in London before the game and lots of singing on the trains going to Wembley but must say it was the quietest support for United at any of the European finals I have been to ( and that's all 6 ). We were not only outplayed by Barcelona once more but were simply out sung by their fans ! The main reason being a lot more of their genuine fans seemed to have got tickets to the match, whereas too many United tickets went to " the corporates " who just do not join in any vocal support. I found myself in the " Club Wembley" section at the Barcelona end with a few other United fans, just below Gareth Bale , and found the usual looks of displeasure from the suits, as I and a few others got up and sang and shouted our support. Don't get me wrong I would rather be at the game, wherever I have to sit, than miss it but I know how hard I tried to get a ticket, having been let down by United, and would have hoped more genuine United fans would have got tickets. Looking around it was obvious that a lot of people there were probably attending their first match and whether that was down to ticket pricing ( the face value of my ticket was £225 ), ticket distribution by the clubs or just the vast number of tickets handed out to " non fans " it stinks as I know a lot more match going fans who didn't get tickets than did. As for the match, yes we were beaten by the better side on the night but all this crap being written about being torn apart is bollocks, but for two speculative, long range shots which on another night may not have gone in , we were in there with a chance. I'm not his biggest fan but I thought Berba would have been a good second half sub, as the little Pea was out of his depth in the second half but hey what do I know, only that Fergie is still BRILL19NT !!!!
I have to laugh at the idiots who paid top dollar for a ticket when I and many others managed to jib in for free. Easiest jib in a long time.
Hi MUFCOK, please enlighten me and many other Reds on your latest jib method as we could all practice for Munich next year ! Just for the record I paid face value for my ticket and would never line the pockets of those ****ing bastards they call touts ! Oh and by the way I am certainly not an idiot but all the same look forward to you divulging your secrets.
Did you go to the game? If so what time did you pass the turnstiles? I would imagine almost half of the people queueing up to get in did not have a ticket. Around 7.15 onwards most people turned up ticketless. The security obviously did not envisage that many people attempting to get in for free so they were seriously undermanned. People were doubling up behind people with tickets behind them, through the turnstiles, people were jumping the turnstiles in rushes. People would storm the doors when the stewards opened them to throw out a jibber. I was unbelieveably surprised at my luck when I saw the lack of security. I have never been to a Champions League Final before but I have jibbed many other games here and in Europe and Wembley is probably the easiest I have ever come across. I heard Rome was quite difficult as was Moscow. But other grounds in England are also very do-able.
Well MUFCOK if your story is true then there must have been well over 120,000 fans inside Wembley last Saturday night ! I personally did not see anybody jumping the turnstiles or doubling up but I'm not saying it didn't happen. I must admit that the security was a lot more low key than Rome and Moscow or even Barcelona in 99 where I saw two genuine reds have their tickets torn up in front of me having been accused of holding forgeries. The two guys were almost in tears as they protested that the tickets had come directly from United but were still led away by the heavy handed police . I seem to remember about three separate security checks that night before you even got to the turnstiles ! I'm sure it would give anyone a buzz to get into a game for free but I doubt you could pull it off nowadays at Old Trafford, however if you have a fool proof method then please let me know and I might just not bother renewing my season tickets next week !!!!!!!
