I tell you one thing , if he( Poyet ) is in charge for our game against them , our lads won't need much of a pre match pep talk to get them up for this one !!!!!

Nigel won't need to keep Brighton in the Prem, he will get the Liverpool job in the summer of 2014 after Brendan Rodgers gets the sack after failing to get into Europe again.

Lizard face's tactics: score a goal, keep the ball. Fun. I'd worry if he does go there, he's a good manager.

You can get 520/1 against NA becoming next manager of Man U.

Fergie did describe Nigel as the best manager in British football (after Fergie, of course) so if he has a hand in his own succession - and why wouldn't he? - it could happen.

Serious question....why are you calling Reading a "plastic club"? I've always thought they were very well run (until this sacking) and in recent years have managed to punch above their weight when you consider that they have traditionally been a 2nd and 3rd tier club.

Seeing a bit of talk of Poyet to Reading and Adkins to Brighton.

What a twist that'd be, if you'd mentioned it 3 years ago. They've never liked him but that'd change if he got the job.

I'd go as far as to say, Brighton would be a really good offer. Ambitious, good funding, new ground (always full). Decent squad as it is!

BBC Sussex: "BBC Sussex understands that Gus Poyet is staying at the club, and will take charge of the Nottingham Forest game"

    Adkins inbound.......?

I think that Reading would be a no-lose gamble for Nigel. If by some miracle he keeps them up, then he is back in the PL (and at who's expense?)
If he doesn't then he is at a club with a decent stadium and parachute payments to have a good crack at it next season. I doubt many established PL teams would take a chance on Nigel with his limited PL experience.

Being said that Adkins has had talks with Reading but has now ruled himself out.

Bet sky are disappointed! They would have been hoping that Adkins would be appointed Reading manager before the Saints game.

MP is 66/1 to be the next Chelsea manager if anyone's interested.

Aww.. bit of a shame there. I'd would like to have seen Nigel at a nearby club. What with Poyet staying at Brighton, there's no other club suitable. I wouldn't want him to drop down the leagues too far. He's easily Championship standard.

Bit of a surprise. Surely he can't be expecting much better? Not that it'd be impossible for him to get a better Prem job, it just might not be likely.

    he's Premiership standard IMHO .

Shame his learning curve did not coincide with our Chairmans LONG term ambitions .

Yes, I'd agree with that. He's going to become a perfectly good PL manager one day.
