Morrissey is a twat of that there is no doubt but I personally really like the Smiths. Maybe it's an age thing as I only really appreciated their music after I turned 30.
    My best/favourite bands are:

    The Cure
    The Smiths
    Joy Division
    The Clash

For a newish band I really like Foals their new album is excellent.

    Worst are:

    The Enemy
    Keane
Scouting for Girls - although that's a bit of an obvious choice.

No intelligence because he doesn't like certain bands. A bit arrogant wouldn't you say? I canlt stand the Beatles but I'm not about to start questioning your intellect.

Away from discussing the Beatles, that is one of the worst statements I have ever read. That's like saying Columbus was **** because 'if he hadnt then someone wouldve discovered the new world eventually'.

    Well said.

This is the sort of guy that likes to be told by music journos what he should and should not like.

He is incapable of thinking for himself.

Talking of arrogance it's strange how the mood changed on this thread when a pair of southern ****ers turned up. Just a coincidence ... maybe.

The Undertones one of the best band ever.

Quality, unlike The Beatles banal nonsense.

I don't mind the Enemy's first two albums. It is a bit The Jam light though.

I agree about Keane and Scouting for Girls and about Morrissey.

I only really like the Smiths because of Johnny Marr.

This was a good thread 3 or 4 pages ago...

Hear Hear! You could say the same for Oasis & Noel.

I don't think its a coincidence, typical of southerners thinking they know better. Comparing Aztec Camera and Prefab Sprout to the Beatles just about sums them up.

I think people generally just have **** taste in music. I think The View are a half-decent band, but you ask someone to name a few of their songs and they only know Same Jeans - one of the worst songs I've heard in my life.

So you complain about the mood changing whilst referring to someone, who hasn't said anything to you at all, or indeed been offensive to any other posters, as a southern ****er? Taking it all a bit seriously aren't we? I've posted on a few threads on this forum and always got on all right with the people on here. You're the first to throw abuse about - coincidence or a foul mouthed key board warrior? Hmmmm.....

Yeah I was excited when Johnny Marr joined The Cribs but I don't think that really worked well.

Just like people who disagree with everyone just to try and make themselves look different, edgy and somehow more 'in tune' with what is really cool! :bandit:

The View are a great live band but their last couple of albums have been really mediocre in my opinion.

Did you go to the gig at Hull Uni when he was with them?

I thought it was good, despite most of the people there only knowing Mens Needs.

The album stands out when you give all the other Cribs records a listen. It's a good listen, but it's different to the rest and i can see why he left.
