Paddingtons were quite good. Used to be a staple of Welly on a Thursday night when i was in sixth form college. I remember when the Libertines gave them a shout out.

The Neat were quite good when i saw them at the Fruitanany at Fruit before Christmas.

I think City were supposed to play up coming Hull bands over the speakers during half time on matchday, but that fell on it's arse because nobody could hear them.

I never understand why if you liked Oasis you had to hate Blur. I think Noel and Damon are playing together at Charity Do over the weekend.

Also don't get why people slag The Stone Roses Second Coming off. There's some fantastic musicianship on that album and some great tunes on it. Ten Story Love Song, How Do You Sleep, Love Spread and Daybreak are as good as anything on the first album.

If you like your women to look like Brett Andersen - when they dated it mustve been like shagging yourself! Donna Matthews was much hotter in the same band.

I'd nominate Bat For Lashes in both of these categories. Brilliant songs and hot as ****.

Nowt to do with them- just preferred Oasis' songs. I still dance to Blur if it comes on in a club.

Out of that list just The Kinks and The Who. The rest were utter ****.

And anyone that says Oasis is a head case. All they ever did was Wonderwall and Don't Look Back In Anger. A poor man's Slade, utter drivel.

Of all time? Even over those crap boy bands that cropped up in the 80s & 90s? If you can call them bands.

I like of all of them personally. Each to their own.

Well said although I'd personally compare Oasis to Status Quo in terms of being formulaic and about as original as a John grisham novel

I can't be having prog rock or any of the cacophonous crap commonly known as Mersey beat. The only reason the Beatles were influential is that anyone with a brain in their head decided to do something totally different thereby improving the scene immeasurably.

Give me the Kinks, the Clash and Ska any day of the week.

Nothing wrong with Ocean Colour Scene

I'm with you on that Dan.

The Beatles were the original boy band manufactured for pre-pubescent teenage girls.

And then you have "Yellow Submarine".

    And that's about it really.

Bit of a sweeping statement. I said 'personally'. Im not claiming others shouldnt like them but for me they're the epitome of dullard, formulaic, retro pub-rock ****ery. In my eyes its actually bordering on the hilarious that they ever thought they were relevant or ground-breaking and at least the boybands mentioend earlier know what they are and would never claim anything else.
