Well, one good thing (the only good thing?) to come of my (ex)girlfriend breaking up with me is that I've finally been able to finish Game of Thrones Series Two. Just watched the last 4 episodes in the last two days. **** me it's good!!

This may be true, but before I did have both, even if Game of Thrones was watched only occasionally.

I do feel like a bit of a nob though. I believe in one of the more romantic discussions on here, I have even discussed how I planned to propose to her. Don't want to bum you all out, but 5 ****ing years. It's not easy to be on your own after that. But I suppose at least The lovely Khaleesi will always be there for me,...on my laptop.

Serious? Damn that's pretty rough. I won't pretend to have any clue about what it's like to have been in a serious relationship for 5 years, but I guess it's best to think of it as the beginning of a new period in your life. You're still young, plenty of fish, etc.

Yeah, always thought it was a 'forever' thing. Apparently not! It'll be 3 weeks on Sunday. I lived with her for 3 years and all. It's bullshit, but there it is. It's seems such a strange world to only have myself to think of. Like I could just go **** it and go and work a season in Turkey or something. I feel uneasy being this lonely and 'free'. But I won't blab about it on here (anymore then I already have).

 

Yeah man. I know I just need to get on with things, keep myself occupied and live my own life. It's just a massive shock to system to have to think like that. But cheers. It'll be a while before I'll be out fishing mind.

 

Just life I guess. Was out of the blue for me at least. We were one of those weird never argue couples. But I think we just found each other too young.

 

As Joe said I won't pretend I know what a 5 year relationship is like, but yeah I'm sure it's a shock - it was enough of a shock for me after a 2 year one ended, and that wasn't live-in or anything, so no idea how you're feeling. Hope you're okay man *hug*

Makes me think about some of my friends who are in serious relationships. An old mate of mine moved in with me in 2011 and soon afterwards we agreed that his girlfriend would move in as well. They'd only known each other for a couple of months so it was pretty crazy that they were living together so soon, but she needed to find a place anyway and it just made sense. Now they're still together and have their own flat, and they seem like that kind of couple who could go the whole way, but if they were to break up it would obviously hit them both really hard, because it would basically change their entire lives. It's a scary thought.
