Oh dear, oh dear... http://www1.skysports.com/football/...-United-put-up-for-sale-by-Gulf-Finance-House
"These guys were meant to be the saviours - All they have brought us is another period of pain, no money, no assets and more time spent languishing in the Championship" My my they certainly have ideas above their station - 'languishing in the Championship'?. Since when has any club had the god-given right............
And some EPL teams complain about playing twice in a short space of time, check this poor team out. http://sport.uk.msn.com/trending-blog/fixture-pile-up-guernseys-17-games-in-30-days
Leeds United aren't "languishing in the Championship" because of this takeover, or Colonel Sanders for that matter, but because they staked the very existence of the club on David O'Leary's managerial ability (opening up a goldfish farm probably didn't help).
Not sure about Championship player of the year, purely because Palace and Blackpool are more dependent on their players than we are on Vydra (we still have Deeney and Forestieri to score goals, and Abdi is arguably our best player anyway). But it would be a travesty if Vydra didn't get young player.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/mar/21/eu-debt-spain-football-clubs Spain's clubs in massive debt..... This football bubble is so inflationary.....
Put's them in the same bracket as The Tramps, they seem to hold the same high opinion of themselves...
One notable absentee from those mentioned as in danger. Yet, along with us they are probably "all that is wrong with football" in many eyes.
This bracket might get a bit overloaded what with: Forest Wednesday Leicester Bolton Blackburn Boro Brum Derby Ipswich Wolves Sheff Utd Coventry Pompey all trying to climb on........... Sorry, forgot Palarse
Serves the donkeys right for joining the English pyramid system, although we welcome it in Jersey as a lot of the players are probably ones that will make the Muratti team on May 18th! The Jersey FA are waiting to see what UEFAs decision is with regard to granting Gibraltar full membership before re-applying rather than putting a team into the English system.
Football clubs are certainly keeping the courts busy these days. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21888821
I find the position of Coventry a little perverse - being taken to court for non-payment of rent by a charity? Strange times we live in.
Maybe if Real and Barca didn't take the majority of the tv money, other teams would cope a little better.
Had a bit of fun on the Cardiff Board - initially defending the FL verdict on us - but I unguardedly said that if they wanted to look at loophoes they should consider the loophole of allowing Welsh teams in hte English leagues. WOW - talk about a hornets nest. Some of them went crazy. So unless you want to wind them up do NOT suggest they are Welsh and should play in the Welsh league - and do NOT refer to their change of colour from blue to red and do NOT mention bluebirds becoming red dragons
