A jinx....in that we get rid of the (world class) players I call myself after? Allen's Haarschmuckfachgeschäft it is then.
How is that arrogance? We could say you are being arrogant by even suggesting that some no mark that has one decent season with a struggling team in the prem is better than Lucas who is a full Brazilian international.
I'm with you on this one. I think he is really good and is definately better than Allen. Lucas is a push mind.
Ah yes, the second lasted until just before the great fire of London. There was pretty much outbreaks across Europe annually in that 200 years or so but I hadn't meant such a topic drift lol. I'm not a great fan of boils of the groin myself!
Schneiderlin looks like a quality player this season. However while we need another good defensive midfielder to cover for Lucas it's not as a desperate as other positions we need to fill this season, so can't justify spending a lot of money on filling that position in the summer. It's crazy to me though that you'd think him miles ahead of Lucas. Schneiderlin has made 119 takles in 28 apps. this season and an impressive 107 interceptions. His pass completion rate is 84.5% which is okay. In Lucas Leiva's last full season without injury he played 32 times, he made 174 tackles and 86 interceptions. His pass completion rate is 88.7%. Southampton's average possession this season is 51%. Liverpool's possession in 2010/11 was 53%. I mention this because obviously the more time your respective team spends with the ball the less chance the defensive player has to make tackles/interceptions etc. To me those stats are quite similar with a peak Lucas just shading it.
I thank some of you for your genuine answers. You can say Lucas is a Brazilian international, but lets be honest about it, Brazil are not known for their world class holding midfielders. Personally, I dont think their is much in it between Lucas and Morgan. I think Morgan is the more complete midfielder, but then i'd probably argue Lucas is the better out and out holding midfielder.
Some no mark? Okay pal, I suggest you do your research. This is the same kid who reportedly, i emphasize reportedly, turned down a move to Chelsea and Arsenal, both better teams than you, to sign for us to guarantee first team football.
Yes, we are known for our excessive wage bill and high earning players... One of only a few Premier League clubs to operate with a profit!
Dunga, Mauro Silva, Falcao and Gilberto Silva were all world class, world cup winning, holding midfielders from Brazil.
