Never buy a phone from an Orange shop. They refuse to take any responsibility for selling it to you despite what the law says and the cost of a small claims court case against them is more than the cost of the useless phone! No surprise they appear to have no Customer Services department...only something called a Correspondence Department. I hope the people who work in it feel a twinge of embarrassment when they send out letters complacently explaining it is not their problem.

    Apologies...rant over.

Really feeling a bit sorry for all of you suffering from bad weather. Today really has been Spring like, with the birds singing their heads off down my fields. They were singing their come and get me song, so taking note I tried a few verses of various love songs. No one turned up!

Add to that they will never sell you what you want. They always seem to tyhink they know what you want.
The number of times I have had rows in the shop with them when they have told me what I need.
Plus half of the young spotty herberts working in there spend most of their time texting their mates, and give you a dirty look for interruprting their texting time.

Apologies....my rant sort of over until someone mentions orange again

I think she believes I sing to the brambles which she regards as unnatural behaviour. <doh>

She doesn't believe that my voice has improved since I changed from soprano to tenor. ;)

Morning all from a chilly West West London - just on freezing when I left and not much warmer now although it looks quite a fair day.

I see the may highlight in the Budget was the reduction in duty on beer that amounts to 1p a pint. Considering that most pubs put in up by 10p at a time, I cannot see any of them dropping it by 1p. In addition most only price their goods to 10p or 5p increments so that they do not have to carry copper coins, so no way this will be passed on. But if it does secure some prosperity for some struggling little local pubs, then it's not a bad thing!

Morning all, bit grey at the start of this morning, but mild and sun forecast for later. ;) 14C today and 18C in the shade tomorrow the meteo are saying. Central heating hopefully will shut down.

A good piece in the Guardian today about the way that the FL is trying to deal with the parachute payments.

Strangely enough the PL see nothing wrong. <doh>

I posted an extract yesterday...it says much about the current attitudes among PL clubs. Poses the question, "Is it a club we are eager to join?"

    Depends how we define "we".

    Many fans would answer No!

I suspect that the Pozzos would disagree.......

There is little evidence that the clubs who are relegated from the Prem are in a healthy financial state after that - let alone at an advantage. The trouble is you have to pay more salaries when you are in the Prem and transitioning down is costly - we have nearly bankrupt ourselves twice on that route.

Do I want to be in a league playing against better teams - yes. Do I especially like the Prem set up - no

However there is no point just taking part - if you play a game you play to win and that means getting into the top division.
