This thread is honestly making me have second thoughts about going to the protest. I don't think some of our fans have the intelligence/wherewithal to make this work, and it'll end in disaster.
Thank you. The point of this march is to highlight the point that football fans are just normal people who are more than capable of travelling to games on their own without police supervision. I know I'm one of the worst offenders for unnecessary swearing on here, and this may come across as hypocritical, but I don't think gathering in a large group and singing "you can shove your ****ing tickets up your arse" and other such chants in a town centre at 2:30 in the afternoon is going to reflect on football fans, and Hull folk, in a very good light. I also think it's important to remember that these orders came from the top, and that the majority of police on the ground will be decent blokes (and women) that could very well be football fans like ourselves. Baiting and singing disparaging, abusive chants towards them is completely missing the point. Reading the suggestions above makes me think that some people just want to go to Huddersfield to abuse coppers. I'm not sure I want to be part of that.
Who cares when all is said and done. The decision has been made. Could be that others got involved when all hell broke loose. They can all take an equal share of the blame then imo. Maybe McManus has gone off on sick leave with stress ?
Well articulated and pretty much what's been bothering me, as I've said a number of times. This really has huge potential to blow up in our faces and help the WYP justify their position as well as giving us all a label the majority of us do not deserve.
Never thought i would agree with you TWF ! Well put TWF For those effing and jeffing at the police you don't speak on my behalf (Hull City Fan) !!! And think profanity will not do the cause any good
There's quite a few suggestions already that don't contain profanities, but feel free to suggest some more. Protest marches do tend to have chants giving people a clue what it's about and to save them getting mistaken for funerals.
